    ASUS USB-N13 reviews

    USB-N13 802.11n Network Adapter is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easily extending the life of my laptop My five year old Samsung laptop has been crashing intermittently for a year and a half at least due to a faulty network adapter. The computer would randomly lose the internet connection and sometimes freeze completely. Had to re-boot whenever that happened---sometimes once a week, sometimes twice an hour. Kind of annoying, no? Reloading the driver for the built in broadcom Network Adapter did not help. Rather than shell out for an entirely new machine, I purchased this external network adapter. Installation was a snap and after more than a week, the computer still has not dropped the connection or crashed. Thank you B+H and Asus

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Wireless Dongle I own two of these and I will probably buy another one in the future. These work with the WD TV Live HD media players to stream video to my TV. No skips or stuttering. I also use one on my main rig and game over the connection with no problems. The signal in that case is going through a ceiling up to the next floor and it is still just as strong. 300Mbps is no gigabit, but it's better than 10/100 ethernet. Likely the only time you will max out that speed is on LAN file transfers anyway. The build quality is a little flimsy and the internal antenna means when it breaks after warranty it will be difficult to replace. If it was $10 cheaper it would be perfect. 5 stars

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wireless for my old G5 Quad! The thought of buying an expensive Airport Extreme/Bluetooth card for my old trusty G5 Quad was out of the question. I have moved the computer down to the basement workshop and not near a wired connection. The price performance ratio was to good to pass up. On the Mac it is recognized by System Preferences Network pane as USB Ethernet and an auto start Network administration utility secures connection at start-up. Painless and puts an old tool back to work!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fix for broken laptop WiFi antenna. Easy fix for my Macbook Pro laptop antenna. Plugged into USB port, paired up and off we went. Installation should have been simple, except that no instructions were included. Customer support provided little help, but B&H rep and I figured out how to get it working. Biggest drawback is need to pair with each new network you join. Doesn't know how to do it automatically.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from May not work with WinXP Followed the installation instructions precisely. Every time I plugged the adapter into a USB port, the computer froze and had to be powered down. Yes, I have an obsolete operating system (WinXP) but so do millions of other people. I disabled my antivirus software before attempting installation. I have SP3 update. No nonstandard hardware.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Enough For the Small Investment Using this adapter to get online ... the instructions were scant, the connection's a bit slow, but i can hook up to my friend's wireless network, which was the goal. there is some difficulty connecting ... have to try and retry - but for $ one can hardly complain.
