question

How to change settings like this? mp3 48khz I tried all the possibilities I could not
Asked by: yehuda s.
MP3 usually has a sample rate of 44.1kHz and many devices adhere to it, including the ZOOM (IIRC MP3 actually doesn't accept anything other than 44.1khz). The 48kHz setting applies to WAV recordings made with the ZOOM H1. Recording formats available in WAV format on the device are 16-bit/44.1kHz, 24-bit/48kHz and 24-bit/96Khz.On the other hand, the best setting for MP3 recordings is 320kbps.

If you plug a lav mic directly into the H1, can you also record through the H1 X/Y Stereo mics as well, and therefore record two channels at once - one for the lav and one for the X/Y mics?
Asked by: Jessica T.
No, can't record with both mics at the same time. Just the connected one.

question

Hi. Is it possible to pick up my purchase at miami or philadelphia airport?Thank you!
Asked by: Santiago M.
Picking up an order at either Miami or Philadelphia is heavily dependent on the restrictions and guidelines of the airports themselves. You will need the name of the individual receiving the package on your behalf, as well as a verifiable physical address.

question

Can the H1 give you 2 levels of recording (like one that has a -db if you get a spike in audio level, like someone suddenly screaming) so you can take the portion of the lower level audio and still be ok? If not which model does that? Thanks!
Asked by: Clarke
While it does record in stereo, anytime I have used it and downloaded recording it comes off as a stereo mp3 ( or mp4a) and can only edit over all recording. Not left or right. Hope this helps.

question

Hi all,Short question if you dont want to read below. CAN YOU TURN OFF PLUG-IN POWER. (to the mic/line in)?LONG QUESTION:I have a question that arises from an interesting experience at a wedding today. I asked the celebrant if I could get a line out of her little P.A. After doing so she said her P.A was quieter now that I plugged in my recorder. She said, can you turn off phantom power, because a videographer once figured out that the sound doesn't go quiet for me if you turn off phantom power .I was perplexed and tried to explain that this unit doesn't provide phantom power. However she INSISTED it was my fault... not wanting to upset her (celebrants get upset easy lol) I told her I could remove it and try something else. When I got home I researched that the zoom h1 unit does indeed provide plug-in power in the mic/line input. To give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe her little cheap P.A. was affected by some kind of power draw from the zoom h1?Just for the record I used a large headphone jack to mini in to the zoom. (6.3 to 3.5mm or whatever the measurements are)So my question is, if indeed the zoom does provide some power of that mic / line input. .... Can I turn it off??thanks in advance.
Asked by: phil
The Zoom H1 does provide plug-in power via the 3.5mm jack and can not be turned off. There are some rercorders that will offer this functionality, but few. Unfortunately it would difficult to determine what the issue is in this case. The plug in power would generally have no affect on a line level signal, and this is common usage of the recorder. There may have been a cable/adapter issue. Hope this is helpful.
