Yes I should have read the specs more carefully, but PORTABLE to me on a fog machine implies that it does not have to be plugged into a wall. I was hoping to be able to bring this unit outside on shoots with me, but nope. This sucker has a short cord and must be plugged into a wall. Not what I was looking for.

Its an okay product. I didn't like that the fog machine was manual so I had to constantly hold a button for the machine to work. Overall, I'll give it a 4/5 because the fog works it's just a really old school type of machine.

While this fog machine requires an AC connection to operate, you could power it outdoors with a gas generator rated for the wattage of the machine which is 445 watts.

You will need a step down transformer that takes the 220 volts down to 110 volts.There are many brands. This one will do the job, TOPOW ST-1000 Step Up / Down Transformer (1000W), B&H # TOST1000 MFR # ST1000.

As long as you are using good quality fog liquid residue should not be a problem. After long hours of heavy usage you may notice some residue.
