FastenR-T1 for Manfrotto 200PL-14 QR Plate is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 157.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can be modified to suit arca-swiss I bought this with the hope that I could make it fit my arca-swiss plate (Sirui K-20X) as I didn't want to have to keep swapping the normal screw for the tripod plate. After a bit of grinding on the ridge of the FR-T1 and a bit on the inner edge of the plate to allow the ring to rotate past, it worked (see photo). For those looking for something that will work with an arca-swiss plate, this should suit but does require some work. I'm pretty happy with the solution now and would recommend this to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FastenR-T1 Plate Fastener Sturdy and trustworthy D-Ring from which to hang camera using a Rapid Strap. Sweet solution for keeping your tripod mounting plate attached to camera while being able to connect a rapid strap to mounting hole for carrying and quick-draw photo opportunities. Recently was in a Castle/Museum which did not allow tripod. However, with a fast lens, and a monopod, I was able to carry camera on hip and use for appropriately lit shots while moving along with the tour group. Occasionally, I needed to supplement steadiness with monopod in more dimly lit areas, and it was only a momentary adjustment to disconnect from sling and to mount to monopod ball-head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as described I've owned this for about two weeks and I'm very happy to have it. I bought it in combination with the Manfrotto 498 MAXI BALL HEAD w/RC2 QR PLATE. I've been using the black rapid R-4 strap for some time and having to remove the FastenR-3 to then mount my previous arca-swiss type plate was rather annoying. Now, I can leave the plate from the quick release attached to the camera at all times, and hook the R-Strap into it as necessary. Its much easier and faster to go from strap to tripod now. Holds just as snug as the original FastenR-3 that came with the R-strap. I don't have any fear that it will come undone. It was very simple to remove the original and replace with this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as described Sturdy little fastner. Very well constructed. The only negative is that unlike the stock Manfrotto fastner where the D-ring has a slightly 'stiff' attachment to the screw head and will stay in it's place once it's tightened and folded down, this D-ring is loose and jingles around when not connected to the sling strap. I've thought about it and it may be intended in the design to allow easier access to the D-ring for connections. Still annoying though when not in use. Also slightly tricky to get the orginial fastner out of the base plate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not sure if it will be used Price aside (Its ridiculous that this isn't included when you buy a $ camera strap), this product does exactly what it states. It's solid, and fits under your tripod attachment plate. It's a little cumbersome to clip and unclip the carabiner that comes with the Black Rapids RS-4 strap, but it works. Overall I have to be honest and say that I usually end up just shooting tripod or handheld because its just annoying enough to switch back and forth to defeat the purpose of this product. The first time I used it, I shot all day switching back and forth and got sick of it. The second time, I just left my camera attached to the tripod and didn't even use the strap. You be the judge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does everything as advertised - Easy to install, just slide off the locking ring on the stock mounting screw and replace the screw with this fastener using the same locking ring. It takes maybe two minutes and that includes finding the parts. - Once installed, mount the Manfrotto plate to the camera using the tripod mount and clip your Black Rapid strap to the new mounting screw and use the Black Rapid as it is intended. - Simply unclip the Black Rapid strap from the ring on the mounting screw, flatten the ring to the Manfrotto plate and easily mount the camera to the Manfrotto tripod without unscrewing or re-screwing anything. - Works easily and simply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adapter for Manfroto OR Alternate Mount Hey guys! I just got a BlackRapid Strap, and I know the fastener they come with stock don't quite enable you to lay the camera down flat on its body. I thought, if this were ever an issue for a shot, and I needed to to be more level, I would want a fastener on the bottom that was flat. The FastnR-T1 is designed to be used in conjunction with a tripod shoe from a Manfroto, so to truly get the most out of this product, you need to be using one of those tripods. I, on the other hand, just use it to instead of the stock fastener for every day use. It does not come with a rubber washer. You may want to use the washer from the stock fastener if you plan to do what I do instead of get a Manfroto tripod.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Has some issues First of all I want to say this thing is built solid and it would take an enormous force to pull it apart, most likely the cameras tripod socket would fail before this thing does. But there is still a flaw with it and hopefully Black Rapid fixes it soon. The flaw only effects certain Manfrotto quick release heads. Heads like the 234RC and the 323RC2, the T1 prevents a proper lock of the RC2 plate to the Manfrotto RC2 head, This is because the T1 is just a hair to thick. There may be others but those are the only two heads I know of because of first hand experience. My camera almost dropped to the floor thankfully I hadn't let go of my camera fully after I attached it to the tripod head and was able to catch it in time. Hopefully Black Rapid will have a fix to this soon so I can have a proper fitting T1. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this to others because of the flaw it still has and not sure if it would effect your manfrotto RC2 head. Order with caution. Once BR corrects the T1's fault then I will recommend it.
