    Nikon HB-57 reviews

HB-57 Snap-On Lens Hood for 55-300mm Lens is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nikon Shame on You - Worst Cover I have this lens hood cover, went to change lenses picked up the camera this hood fell apart into 5 pieces - no damage none not even a tap to this product! Called Nikon customer service lady, Gwen, was nice enough but they offered nothing to help me but send it in for a service review - are you kidding me! Shame on NIKON, shame. In addition, what's worse there are others with the same reported problem. Hmmmm. I can't believe we are all careless, but Nikon seems to think so. Good Luck to those of you that your hood is working fine, matter of time before it falls apart. I'd order a back up now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from save your money The hood came as part of a package and is really flimsy. I snapped it in place and could never get it to stay on. It is virtually useless. When I tried to return it to Nikon, they said they didn't guarantee it. Rip off

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Breaks easily Easy on and off because there is no lining up of threads. However I snagged the hood on my camera bag flap while picking up the camera and it broke into pieces. Too flimsy to count on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from junk Brittle, flimsy piece of junk. Does anyone know if there is a sturdier version available?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trash First use, fourth day, with no abuse, while I was motionless, the lens hood exploded like a cheap watch, blowing its five parts all over. Couldn't find some of them. I have been a Nikon user since 1966 and have never seen anything like this. I am going to try a Vivitar indestructible one-piece rubber hood if they're still made. I will not throw good money after bad by replacing this trash with another Nikon hood. I absolutely can't believe Nikon let this product out the door. Are they saving money by eliminating the quality control guy?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only one maker of this part This is the second time I have bought this product. Detaches too easily and is fragile. I prefer the construction of the hood that I have for my 18-200mm lens.
