The BG-E9 Battery Grip from Canon is a very useful accessory to have on hand for your EOS 60D DSLR. I got an off brand battery grip and it drained the batteries so I returned it and got this one. It's WAY BETTER AND RELIABLE. so yeah.

I have been wanting this addition to my Canon 60D for quite some time. I have not used it outside to shoot yet, just some practice shots, although the battery grip is heavier, it is still manageable and I'm very pleased I bought this product. :)

I do a lot of film making and use the Glidecam HD-4000, and the battery grip really adds the weight that I need to get much nicer cinematic shots! It works just as it is supposed to, and feels amazing when holding that camera especially since it add more of a grip. Having the battery grip on the camera just makes me want to go shoot some more!!

The added battery life alone is worth this grip. Shortly after purchasing this Battery Grip I shoot a wedding that was an all day affair. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need to switch to my back-up batteries, and even had over half my battery life at the end of the day. The Canon grip is a sturdy addition to the camera and feels like one piece once installed. Initially I thought the grip to be bulky, however as I worked with it I found that it fit the hand well and all the controls were quite ergonomic. All in all I am very pleased with this piece of gear!

Unfortunately, the BG-E9 Battery Grip is not compatible with the Canon 6D. This grip is only compatible with the Canon 60D. For the 6D, you would need the Canon BG-E13 (B&H # CABGE13).

No. You will not be able to use the BG-E9 Grip on the Canon 50D. Instead, you could try something like this:Vello BG-C3 Battery Grip for Canon EOS 20D/30D/40D/50DB&H # VEBGC3 ? Mfr # BG-C3

The battery grip is only for the 60D as far as I know, theres a battery for each camera.

Yes. I use Eneloop rechargeable batteries and they work fine. The battery grip comes with an additional insert that accommodates AA batteries.
