    Nikon MB-D11 reviews

MB-D11 Multi Power Battery Pack is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 427.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not perfect The good things first: It makes D7K easier to hold especially with bigger lenses. Ergonomics and balance greatly improves. The construction is very solid alloy.. The bad: When I have heavier lens on in a vertical position, the camera moves a few mm within the drive mount.. Its is annoying. Everything still functions fine. I ended up adding a small strip of electrical tape to keep it from happening.. The dials are very stiff and sometimes difficult to just move one click... The grip only holds 1 battery instead of 2. The second battery stays in the camera. Kindda goofy design. The battery/tray rattles inside the grip just a little. Again just an annoyance... A bit overpriced. Should be closer to $150..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works as advertised but... I attached this to my D7000 and liked the fit immediately. I like the handling, it works as advertised and in general, have no issues with the function. I am not a professional, yet but am collecting equipment and shooting more to get there. What is irritating to me though is a slight wobble I ntoiced in the fit. The more I use it, the more I notice it. For some reason, it just is not as tight a fit as I expected. I truly thought it would be snug without any movement but unfortunately, that is not the case. I still like the weight and overall fit in my hands but there's something about that wobble....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you get what you pay for! After trying 3 different knock off MB- D 11's I finally bit the bullet and purchased the Nikon original. These knock off battery packs were supposed to (according to reviewers) look exactly like the original. I don't think these people ever saw much less used the original. Every one of the knock off batt packs had something that was defective. I believe they were all made by the same company under different brand names-all that I got were identical. Bottom line--don't waste your time and money and get the original Nikon it works like a charm and as far as build quality there is absolutley no comparison.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid grip I like this grip a lot, an obvious upgrade over the grip for the D80/D90 that I've been used to. Feels really solid and everything works well. I actually prefer the feeling in my hand of the grip compared to the grip on the camera. Been using eneloops for power from the pack and they seem to balance nicely. I used an extra EN-EL15 in the grip for one basketball game, changed the feeling weight wise but still felt pretty good. Only complaint is that I wish it had just a little less play and had another post to hold it secure. The wiggle is barely noticeable though when actually shooting. This is well worth the money, especially for those shooting basketball or another other subject that requires vertical shots.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product but not happy with the fit. I believe this battery pack will last a long time being an offical Nikon product. However I am not happy with the way it fits my camera. When I flip from horizontal to verticle using the battery pack I can fell the camera shift. This causes me to constantly check the whell that locks it on to my camera to make sure it's not lose. I have used it for 8 hours straight and it didn't fall off, but I was always pushing the dial to make sure it was tight and not coming off. I read somehwere that a little piece of rubber keeps this from happening. I just haven't tried that yet, nor do I think I should have to for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top quality This allows my D7000 to fill my large hands very nicely. The controls and buttons function very well. The only one I stumble with is sometimes finding and actuating the shutter release lock with my index finger without looking. That will come with repetition. It's certainly sturdy. Attaches well to the camera body. No wiggle or wobble. I do wish that it held two batteries like the MB-D80, but that's not a deal breaker, just an inconvenience. Fit and finish are very nice. I came so close to ordering the non-Nikon version, but after holding them both in my hands and attaching both to the camera, I do think it was worth paying extra for the Nikon version.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works Well but has issues The battery works well and the controls are also well placed. But there is a problem. With the Mb-d11 attached to the D7000 it works fine until you mount an external flash. The pop up flash keeps popping up when the external SB600 goes into standby. This doesn't happen as long as the flash is not in standby and doesn't do it without the multi battery pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition for shooting and comfort I added the MB-D11 to my D7000 because I am converting all my video shooting to the DSLR and definitely need the extra battery life. I have also found in many years of using Nikon products that the consumer cameras just don't fit my hand that well so the extra inch of plastic is much more comfortable for me to handle in a long day of shooting. I was pleased that it came with an extra tray for using AA batteries in case both the Nikon batteries run out and you have to get the shoot done. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that it's pretty expensive at $. Great product and a welcome addition in my camera bag.
