APC XS 1300 overview

  • 1Description

The Power-Saving Back-UPS XS 1300 from APC provides power to your important computer components in the event of an electrical outage. The Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) contains a battery which continues to power computers, monitors and other components if the electricity is cut from them. An LCD status display provides information including remaining battery life, load capacity, and event notices. The battery is hot-swappable and easy to replace. An audible alarm alerts you of events like power outage and low battery.

Note: The control software for the XS 1300 is compatible with Windows computers only.

    APC XS 1300 reviews

    Power-Saving Back-UPS XS 1300 is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesnt appear to function as a UPS The APC UPS i had before this lasted 3 years before my first issue and that was just that I needed to replace the battery. This one completely died by day 3. No errors. Outlet was fine, wasnt overloaded (max load 50%, most of the time under 10%) and the 3rd night it started beeping. Got up in the morning to see that everything was off and the UPS was unresponsive. Tried a different outlet, reset the breaker, unplugged everything. The only thing that got the UPS working again was to pull the battery and replace. And that is all the online help could suggest. Its NOT a UPS if every 3 days you have to reset it. Im giving it one more try before returning it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TV makes a terrible noise on battery Bought this to replace an XS 1300 for my that died just out of warranty (how convenient). I use this to protect my TV/stereo/XBox/DirectTV devices against the frequent power glitches we get in my area. The new unit looks good and has good features but when on battery, my TV makes a terrible noise, probably from the power supply not being compatible with the stepped sine wave. I don't recall a similar noise with the previous unit but I can't be 100% sure. Anyway, I'm going to move this unit somewhere else and buy an adaptive sinewave output unit from "Brand C".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as it should I own 4 of these that I use to deal with frequent short power outages in my area. I run linux servers from them using apcupsd and I find them very easy to use and reliable. I am able to run 4 quad core machines on each one with almost 10 minutes of runtime and configure each machine to shutdown in the order I want if power stays out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great UPS Great UPS. I got a good price on two of these, have one for each computer hooked up now. It's sad when you're working on a project, or gaming, and power goes out, in fact, happened about two hours before UPS (parcel service, not power supply, lol) showed up with my UPS's. So, we'll see how they perform, if you don't see another comment of mine, you can probably assume my two units are working great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back-UPS XS 1300 Unit was hard to wrestle around but I guess that is normal but, when your locating everything in a small hard to get to area it needs everything available to see up front like, Model Numbers etc,...... I needed more plain instructions on everything I am not a Geek. Not enough easy to do lists either. we shall see how it works this time storms going through here right now. Pretty though.
