Novoflex once again is the best adapter of this type. Mating surfaces are smooth but tight, no play in the mount.

This adapter has allowed me to use vintage Leica glass it's my Sony a7ii. Works perfectly. The Leica lenses I'm interested in are all manual focus and this adapts them well. If you are interested in autofocus lenses, you don't want this adapter.

20 years ago I purchased a Leica 180mm Apo-Telyt. I have used it in different camera bodies including Leica, Canon, Olympus and now with a Sony 7RII. I tried different brands of adapters and I found Novoflex to be the best made, smoother to remove and fit, it does not leak light and most importantly infinity focus is kept as it should be. I found it remarkable that after so many years I can use an amazingly sharp lens with a very high resolution modern sensor. Using a long lens with an adapter is a slow process, it requires careful focusing and a steady tripod, I only use this equipment for landscapes and architecture and when there is time to take the time to capture time

the adapter mounted flawlessly to the A7 Rll and A7ll. The R lens I used to test was the 50 Summicron, and it worked as it should on these cameras. No issues or problems. This adapter gives new life to my R lenses.BTW, the A7ll and A7Rll just seem to enjoy using adapted lenses, and focus is easily achieved.

There are many adapters now on the market given the wide interchangeability of bodies and lenses but the only one I have found that can equal the quality of Leica or Zeiss is the Novoflex - it fits like a Leica lens on a Leica body.

Will this adapter work on a 135 Elmarit- R 2.8 lens on a Sony a7iii body?

Well, I THINK so, but I bought this adapter in order to use the Schneider-Kreuznach 28mm, 2.8 shift that they made for Leica R, and for that, it works perfectly. This is a manual adapter in all respects, with no EXIF data transmitted to the Sony body, but you probably know that already. I've used Novoflex and Rayqual adapters, and both are top quality, IMO.

I have not tried this specific combination but I cannot imagine why not. It would wave to be manual focus as you would expect in aperture mnode.

I used Novoflex Adapter for Leica-R (NEX/LER) to Sony NEX (Sony a6000). I can focus from minimum distance to infinity. You just leave the adapter on the A7S and mount the lense on it. I do not have your listed lens. These are lens that I used on Sony a6000:1. 21 mm f 4.0 Super-Angulon-R2. 60 mm f 2.8 Macro-Elmarit-R3. 90 mm f 2.8 elmarit-RI think that your lens with Novoflex lens adapter can be used on the A7R.Regards,Borom
