One of the most appealing aspects of small mirrorless cameras like the Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 is the availability of a wide range of interchangeable lenses, including non-Sony lenses. This Novoflex Adapter for Pentax K Lens to Sony NEX Camera makes it possible to mount a Pentax K lens to your NEX-3 or NEX-5 camera with a precision mechanical adapter. Such an adapter does not transfer functions from the camera to the lens, such as auto focus, but automatic exposure metering (stop-down metering/aperture priority) is possible. The lens will focus to infinity using this adapter.

Adapter for Pentax K Lens to Sony NEX Camera is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Successful Adaption After looking at several options that would allow use of my various Pentax K lenses along with my Pentax adapters for the 645 and 67 lenses, the Novoflex Pentax K to Sony NEX adapter appeared to provide the best fit and finish. It has not disappointed. Although on the expensive side, the fit and adjustments of the adapter are firm, but smooth, and the machining and workmanship are impeccable. A nicely knurled ring permits the aperture to be opened and closed. A rear lens cap for the Sony E mount is included.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Provides aperture control Looked for months for a similar product and found many cheap alternatives online, the majority of which did not provide any control of aperture. Adapters without aperture control means that any attached lens which were designed for dSLRs will be shot with wide-open aperture only. Furthermore, I found a few reports that these cheaper adapters did not line the lens up completely perpendicular to the sensor. This adapter is solidly built, connects to my NEX and various pentax lenses firmly and smoothly and the pictures I've taken with the adapter so far are absolutely beautiful. This product works exactly as promised. Nevertheless, there is one major challenge to using this adapter. Focusing is quite slow as this adapter does not allow for auto-focusing by the NEX camera. I use manual focus assist zoom (the NEX-5 provides for 7x or 14x zoom) and have been using a focus-recompose method. Though slow, this method works fine except in low light and/or smaller apertures as the NEX body uses high ISO to produce a live-view image with high frame rates. Determining sharpness on such a high-ISO live-view image is difficult if not near impossible. I give this product 4/5 stars mainly because of price, especially compared to cheaper alternatives. I have not actually handled any of the cheaper alternatives so I can not say how good this product is compared to those. However, I suspect that the build quality on this Novoflex adapter to be considerably better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Germans always make good stuff. Solid construction, fits perfectly. Using this on a Sony Alpha 7R with Pentax K mount full frame lenses. Note: The aperture ring is different from the B&H photo; the ring on my model has curvy cutouts, which I prefer, and not the tiny teeth shown. Everything works like a charm!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works fine, but expensive First it works absolutely perfect. I does seem extremely expensive for being nothing more than a big washer to fit lenses onto a new camera and that is why I am giving it two stars. Seeing that this is design for a digital camera(e-mount) with an lcd display I'm not sure the purpose of sliding the aperture to it's wide open setting. Seems like adding a feature/cost that really is not needed in today's lcd display world. A feature that does occasionally get in the way. Lenses fit on it nice and tight, and this is only my personal experience/opinion, but those great old lenses that I thought were awesome with film don't seem close to quality for a high megapixel digital camera. I forgot what flare, ghosting and focusing with the ability to pixel peep was about. I guess my personal point is this much money for an adapter for lenses that I think is fair to say a gamble if yesterday's lenses are on par with today's technology I can't say I would recommend due to the cost for basically a metal spacer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Puts some old lenses on my A4 I am able to use some good lenses that I have had for years on a new camera.
