    Canon LH-DC60 reviews

LH-DC60 Lens Hood for Select PowerShot Cameras is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 62.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from LH-DC60 lens hood review The lens hood was purchased for a few reasons. I wanted a hood to provide shading sun glare , and to provide lens protection in case of camera bumps or drops. The camera I purchased it for is a Canon SX50HS. The lens is plastic , and fits the camera lens quite well. I like that you can screw the lens around backwards on the lens at night , eliminating one more thing you have to carry. It does give me a safe feeling when I am using it , as I don't worry about passerbys bumping my lens. I do wish that the lens hood was another 1/4 inch in length , which would provide a little better sun shading. I am happy with my day images though , as you can see the difference between shots with and without the hood. I would recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Need for the new Canon SX40 I recently upgraded from the Canon SX10 to the new Canon SX40. At first I was going to re-purpose the lens hood that came with my SX10 but decided to order the new lens hood especially made for the SX40 (and SX30) and let the SX10 lens hood go with the SX10 that was given to our daughter. After receiving the SX40 lens hood (OEM) from B&H Photo one look at it and I realized that the SX10 lens hood was deeper than the SX40 lens hood. The SX40 lens is a 24mm wide angle (35mm equivilent) and the SX10 lens is only a 28mm wide angle. Obviously the SX40 lens hood needed to be a little less deep to accommodate the extra 4mm wide angle of the SX40 lens (when zoomed all the way to maximum wide angle. To anyone contemplating keeping their SX10 or SX20 lens hood to use on the SX40 or SX30...DON'T !!!. You may experience some dark corners of wide angle photos you take when using the older style lens hood.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Akward to install I have an SX50HS which lists this hood as an accessory, yet Canon only lists it for the SX30IS and SX40HS.I had difficulty fitting it for the first time. Easier now that I have the hang of it. The mould looks like it was unprofessionally modified for the SX50HS. It does fit but you have to be careful on install and removal - not a fast task since you don't want to damage lens or hood, but for the price, ok by me. Canon should redesign mounting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits tight One must make sure it is aligned properly on the lens & even then it fits tight. Tight enough it feels like you might break something twisting it on. It cannot be used in combination with the filter adapter. It seems fairly minimal but hopefully it will prevent some glare & damage to the lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have & a smart buy I decided to buy this lens hood after reading how it saved the lens from shattering when other customers dropped their cameras. Also, I have noticed some vingetting around the edges of my photos and learned that I could prevent this by simply adding a lens hood. This one was inexpensive and attached quite easily to my Canon SX30is. I can also still fit the lens cap on without removing it. Unfortunately, I am not able to attach both a lens filter AND this lens hood at the same time, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have for the SX30 Canon really should have included this Hood with the camera, but it is something we will all have to buy on our own as an additional purchase. No physical stores carry this, not even camera stores! So you have to order it online, and B&H had it for a better price than a few other websites I had searched for and found. Once you understand how this Lens Hood is put on, with a quarter turn and snap so the Canon Logo is on top, it is very easy and quick to remove and put back on. With very little effort. If you turn the Hood around, so it is backwards, it will still snap on the camera. This way it stores easy and will not get lost, and will not take up any extra space to store in your camera bag, if yours is too small to put the camera in with the hood on forwards. You can not use the Hood and the lens filter adapter at the same time. However, the lens cap that comes with the camera WILL still snap in place, with the Lens Hood still attached. In addition to what the Lens Hood is designed to do, the added bonus is that it protects you from hitting the lens glass, and really makes the camera look much more impressive and pro overall. This is one item you don't want an aftermarket version, because the CANON logo imprint on the top, really shows it is made to be part of the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LH-DC60 Also Fits the SX50HS This OEM lens hood fits the SX50HS that I just purchased. It is designed to be reversed and reinstalled on the lens for storage letting it fit in a smaller case. Being a Canon product I know it is designed with ease in mind.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from excellent fit but The hood is a very well made product. Works great on my wifes Canon SX50only issue is really with the camera Canon SX50 design that does not allow use of a filter and the hood at the same time unlike other bridge cameras.
