Datacolor SpyderCHECKR Reviews
Not Compatible with Photoshop
If you're planing to make camera profiles for use with Adobe Camera Raw or Photoshop, avoid this product. It may work well with Lightroom but making a camera profile to use with Photoshop is either impossible or so complex it is essentially impossible. CAUTION: This item comes sealed in a plastic clamshell that must be destroyed to open. Once you do that, B&H will not accept a return request.
Best of both worlds
Helps when you have to shoot color charts on the go.
It is what it is
Good for on the go testing. With the standard cards, i have to be so much more intentional. these pack and go quite well. I like the 1/4-20 thread mounts, but after thought, i realize how easy it is to just use a clamp with a 1/4-20 for the standard cards too. Only difference is how you have to worry about where you set them. I have both. but i tend to bring the book along more often.
Fantastic Color Checker
I really like the large size of the DataColor Spyder checker. Very comfortable to use.
It's worth the money
As someone who constantly shoots videos for YouTube and work, having this has changed the way I Color correct my footage! Shooting with an 8-bit video Mirrorless camera and trying to match it to a BMPCC4K has never been easier than it is with this.
Can't beat it for the price
Comes with a durable metal shell and easy to set up on a light stand or tripod to get color matching between cameras.
Works great!
Accurate color balance in a durable package.
Price is steep for what it is
I use this for shooting fine art reproduction to provide a reference for colour adjustment. Considering it is a plastic case with a set of printed card and a small program, it is not inexpensive. However, if you need it you need it. www.eddycheng.com
