The Singh-Ray 77mm #10 Magenta Filter is a good filter to have when shooting under certain photographic situations that require specific color corrections. For example, when shooting daylight film under fluorescent lighting, some magenta correction is needed in order to remove the greenish tint that would otherwise appear. This filter should be considered as a CC10M (Magenta) filter.
For example, if you get hired to shoot inside a department store and all the showcases are lit with fluorescent lights (as well as the overhead lights), shooting with daylight film will most likely yield a green-tinted image. This magenta filter removes that greenish cast.
Singh-Ray filters are made from high-quality resin and are regarded as an industry standard when it comes to specialized filtration. Each filter comes in its own protective case and includes a liner cloth.
Note: It must be noted that the amount of color correction required for any given scenario is most accurately measured using a color temperature meter
Can help when minor color adjustments are required when shooting under fluorescent or neon lighting
Removes green and brings back color to a neutral position (depending on the rating of the fluorescent used)
