Eiko EBV-LN reviews

EBV Lamp (500W/120V) is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bright but brief This was purchased to go with an Impact light kit sold by B & H. It is really bright. It may have been a function of the shipping (carton was chewed up a bit) but it only lasted about three hours. It gave a good tungsten-balanced light while it lasted, and threw a TON of light for the money - has the highest lumens per dollar I have seen. If you need a bright bulb that's reliable for an un-ballasted E26 head, I'd recommend going with Halogen or CFL. Otherwise get SEVERAL of these Eikos per light socket if you have a long shoot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big and Bright they do what they are supposed to do and last for about as long as they are supposed to last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good lamps I purchased these as replacement for the lamps that came with my tungsten kit. These are a bit more compact than the Sylvania bulbs and so far are more durable. They cast an even, consistent light. Color temp is good. And they don't seem to run quite as hot as other 500 watt lamps I've used. Also so far they are outlasting there 6 hour average lifespan by several hours. I'm pleased and will buy more. I would recommend these lamps.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good while it lasts... Great light but much to fragile compared to other lights on the market. I used the light for about 9 hours total and it burned out half way through the next day of shooting

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Great product for what it is. I needed an edison base 500W for a fixture I already own. The only drawback is any bulb of this type has an incredibly short life. That is a reflection of the type of bulb not of Eiko or the quality of their products. I'll probably replace this full light with a quartz Tota at some point.
