Eiko EBW reviews

EBW Lamp (500W/120V) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from EIKO 5K daylight lamp a MUST for indoors - Commonly called a 5K light, this is great for outdoor light for photos taken inside, this EBW lamp is the classic tool, along with a 10 aluminum reflector (and a simple mic stand for positions).- It lasts for a long time especially if you turn it off when getting ready to shoot, or re-positioning subjects.- Sometimes I need two lamps to help reduce shadows and get more evenly distributed light, so I do have two reflector/lamps at the ready.- The only drawback is that it is HOT. So it can contribute to an uncomfortable setting for the photographer and the subject unless it is turned off when not in immediate use.- B&H sells the EIKO which is my favorite, and didn't even charge shipping, which was great since it was all I needed at the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bulb This bulb is a good replacement for the PB500. I learned long ago to keep a replacement bulb for all my lights. There is nothing worse than losing a piece of gear because of something as simple as a bulb going out on your lights in the middle of a shoot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just the basics I am continually photographing products and these bulbs give the best color balance and light consistency.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very cool and good, limited use It runs a little hot but it's acceptable. I love the color and like to play around with it. Very powerful and seems to have a very good life span. I've used it heavily just playing around. Left it going for almost an hour.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good light quality but too hot I get it that these types of bulbs get too hot but they are almost impossible to work with. Good quality of the light though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eiko EBW Bulb 500w I've been using this style of bulb ever since I started getting into photography. It works GREAT! It's super bright it can light an entire scene with no problem, and all you need is a couple of reflectors to move the light around. Overall, it's a great product espeshally because its daylight balanced. The only draw back is that the life of these is only like 6 hours, but that doesn't matter too much because of how inexpensive these are.
