The Olympus SP-600UZ Digital Camera lets you get close to the action with its 15x wide-angle 28mm zoom lens. This lens has an amazing 28-420mm range (equivalent in 35mm). If your subject is faraway you can still get up close and personal with the telephoto end of the zoom, while the 28mm wide-angle lets you capture breathtaking panoramas. Considering these capabilities, this is still a very compact 12 megapixel camera. Composing photos is easy on the camera's bright, 2.7" LCD screen, and it is easy to view even in the bright sunlight.

Intelligent Auto (iAuto) Mode analyzes your composition and automatically adjusts critical exposure settings for brilliant, hassle-free shooting. Other features including Shadow Adjustment Technology, AF Tracking, and Dual Image Stabilization, making it easy to take great photos. Take beautiful portraits, by softening shadows and smoothing wrinkles and blemishes on your subject's face with the Beauty Mode feature. Edits can also be made inside the camera after taking the picture.

The camera allows you to create stylized looks with Creative Art Filters. You can use the Panorama mode to create one large image. If you need to capture a moving subject, the camera shoots HD quality movies with a touch of one button. Olympus 227670B reviews

SP-600UZ Digital Camera is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Pleased !! I have several Olympus cameras so the learning curve was pretty low for me. Only complaint was no printed manual. The one in the camera takes forever to access, so I went to the Olympus site, downloaded and printed it myself. Sat with the camera and manual about 45 minutes to learn how to use all the features, and the results have been great . Camera is light, small, and easy to carry when you don't want to lug around your DSLR. Took some excellent pictures at a childs birthday party and his Dad is going to order one too. Could not find a better price than at B&H, so shop around, read the reveiws, but buy here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Camera I have owned this camera for a week but I have used it every single day since I got it. I love the zoom and panorama setting. But my favorite feature is that it records 720p hi def videos. Only thing I am not fond of is the battery life and how it takes 4 AA batteries instead of the rechargeable one. But I just went out and bought 4 rechargeable AA batteries and works just as good. :) Love how it had an HDMI port and I can connect it to my HD tv and watch my movies on it. 5 out of 5 stars! If you want to see examples of HD videos, go see my channel on youtube. My name is@

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I liked this product. I have only had the camera for a couple weeks, but am thoroughly enjoying it. It is easy to use. I took it on my kids 4H trip, and was able to take pictures as well as mini movies of their demonstration speeches. I am having fun with the different filters too. Personally, I would have preferred a book manual. It came with a manual, but it is on the computer, and I have to get on the computer if I have a question. Anyway, if the camera is still working two years from now, I will be a very happy, satisfied customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right price, right camera I live near Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks, and I wanted a camera that could do panoramas, had zoom to capture animal photos, but was also good for a family event camera. This one fills all of those needs, and the price was just where I needed it to be. My family liked it as well, so we ordered another just like it for my daughter and her husband. I haven't discovered any downsides yet!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good bargain Perfect optical zoom, very simple design. My older Olympus (C5050Z) had 10-12 tiny buttons to control and program the camera. 600UZ has only 2 or 3. This pushes you to use it as a point and shoot camera with a great optical zoom. When you dig deeper into the menu you can find most of the advanced functions, but takes more time and practice to get used to. My first impression is that 600UZ lags slightly behind the picture quality of 5050Z

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera - Big Bang for the buck! I bought this to replace a 5 year old Konica/Minolta Z-10, which through a course of attrition of my old 35MM SLR's became my main camera. I'm getting too lazy in my old age for SLR's & I figure the camera firmware engineers probably know more about what it takes to get a good picture than an old guy with a bad memory. So far I am very pleased. The camera has an intuitive interface & has a nice feel to it. The build quality is high, especially at this price point. The zoom is great. Probably the 15X is the most I want to go without constant use of a tripod, though. I'm not fond of the SD card in the battery compartment, as I prefer to use a card reader for transfer. Still, it seems all the camera makers are doing this now. I'll just use the USB cable for now. Hardware wise, the camera is a great buy. I played with the ib editing software for a few days & uninstalled it today. Very glitzy software, but not a lot of function. I went back to my Photosuite 7. ...And this camera is an excellent value. You won't be sorry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My 4th Olympus is great I have a small FE Olympus and an 420 DSLR. I purchased this camera as a in-between choice to carry backpacking. The size and features are great. The camera is easy to use but does have a few more bells and whistles than I use. I purchased this knowing that it has been replaced by an updated model but for the price and potiential risk of my doing damage to it in the woods it was a great fit. It does take 4AA batteries (new model has a Li) and I found that I get around 125 shots per set. I have read some complaints about no user manual but all the help you need is in the camera help menu. I also went on-line and printed the manual PRIOR to purchasing this camera. I actually liked that as I could take time to study the features before making a decision. I should be able to do 11 x 17 or 17 x 22 prints from this camera. My first Olympus was an OM10 30 years ago and they STILL make great cameras.
