LEE Filters SET-RESIN-STARTER2 Overview

The Lee Starter 2 Filter Set contains several filters and a holder that will help you elevate your outdoor shooting to a higher level.

Filter Holder
The Lee Filter Holder has two slots for two 100mm (4") wide x 2mm thick filters. It can also hold 4x6" (100 x 150mm, 2mm thick) filters.

0.6 Neutral Density Resin Filter (Hard Edge)
Neural Density filters have several uses and offer the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. They enable the shooter to adjust exposure without affecting color balance. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film.

Determining which neutral density filter yields ideal results for any given lighting situation takes knowledge, experience and a collection of such filters. Speaking generally, the 2-stop value (ND 0.6) effectively compensates average situations.

Graduated Coral 3 Resin Filter (Hard Edge)
Coral is a general purpose warming filter which comes in increasing amounts of color temperature correction as the number in the series increases. It is commonly used to produce slightly "orangey" skies. From light to heavy, any effect from basic correction to warmer or cooler than "normal" is possible. Corals can also compensate for the overly cool blue effect of outdoor shade.

The kit includes a handy 15 x 15" cleaning cloth that will help remove any unsightly smudges from your filters. Everything is packed in a durable Cordura nylon storage pouch with compartments. This kit requires a Lee Adapter Ring (sold separately).

Neutral Density Filters Have Four Main Uses
To enable slow shutter speeds to be used, especially with high speed films, to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, clouds, or cars
To decrease depth of field by allowing wider apertures to be used, which helps separate subjects from their background
To decrease the effective ISO of high speed film (above ISO 400) and allow it to be used outdoors in bright situations
To allow cine and video cameras (which have fixed shutter speeds) to film subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes which could cause overexposure
Coral Filter
Coral Filters are used extensively in both still and cinematography to add a touch of "orange" to a scene. They are one of the most commonly used filters in those disciplines and are available in various grades to suit your needs
