    Nikon BS-2 reviews

BS-2 Accessory Shoe Cover is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great protective cover This hot shoe cover was designed for the D3 and D4 series. I bought it for my D750 and I'm quite happy with it. It offers more protection from accidental bumps or splashes than the BS-1 cover. It sits very tight in the hot shoe and won't come off easily. The only drawback is that the cover doesn't fit the D750's shape exactly. There is a small gap between the cover and the camera body, so it doesn't provide much additional weather resistance. In heavy rain, especially if shooting vertically, droplets would enter the space under the cover. The cover can also block your pop-up flash. I never use it, so it's not an issue for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not made for it, but fits nicely on D800 I had one of these on a D4, and never liked the tiny piece of plastic that the D800 has, as the metal sides are still exposed to either scratch things (like my head in a collision while shooting sports), or itself be bent since it is frequent with long lenses to lay the camera down upside down (grabbing the lens by the foot). This makes a nicely padded top for the D800, even though not specifically made for it, and so long as upright is much better protection in the rain (not sure if upside down as it does not seal well enough and may act as a funnel). If you have a D800 and use it in rough environments, it may very much be worth the cheap price. It may fit other non-Dx bodies as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Improved protection Purchased and added to my D750 body. While providing the normal hot shoe protection, being rubbery and thick it feels as if it will provide some shock protection if the viewfinder bump should get hit against something hard. While not a 100% fit on a D750 (doesn't line up flush with the viewfinder bump molding), I like the extra protection and when removing to use a flash it doesn't get lost in my pocket like a BS-1 will.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great as advertised Nikon's BS-2 accessory shoe cover fits perfectly over D4's hot shoe preventing any moisture from entering. It is easy to install or remove without problem and even looks good when on the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is new cover is no BS Finely! Nikon makes a P.C. cover that really works. For use that live in damp climents this new cover works much better this the original plastic cover. The new cover is a big improvment in fit and protchion for your camera PC terminal. Please remember always cover your pc terminal. If you don't you could be paying the big $$ for your cameras repair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved Protection This cover provides greatly improved protection to the camera's hot shoe than the previous simple plastic insert. It covers the entire hot shoe for total coverage. I did add a small patch of Velcro to the top of the cover which provides a means to hold it in the camera bag when the cover is not in use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for Canon Too! I took a chance to see if this Shoe cover would fit my Canon 5D as I didn't think Canon made one. If fits great on my 5D! I believe it would also fit other Canon EOS models. However, I happen to see from another camera retailer that Canon does in fact make a shoe cover. There are two models to fit different Canon EOS cameras, so you might want to check this out before you buy this for your Canon. I checked and B&H doesn't carry the Canon Shoe Covers. The only complaint I have is it's a little tight and a little bit difficult to get on and off-but not overly so. It's designed to fit tight so you won't loose it. It's made out of flexible rubber and has a nice feel to it. I believe it fits better than a plastic one would. Recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I find it useful This cover helps keep the shoe protected from the elements, as well as an occasional love tap. You never know when it is going to rain, especially in locales like Florida. I am just more comfortable with it on. Now, if I can only find a way not to misplace it when I use the flash! (smile)
