Love IT!

I just got it and attached it to my NEX-5 with my Nikon 50mm f1.4 lens and I love it! Lens is oriented normally, I am using the camera in manual mode. I had to go to Set-up/Release w/o Lens - Enable to make it work. As a bit older photog I found using a pair of reading glasses (from the Dollar store) helps me see to manually focus better. It allows me to use my entire selection of Nikon lenses with this small, light weight, incredibly powerful body! If manual doesn't bother you (I grew up in a manual world) this is a fantatstic accessory that allows you to take advantage of your existing lenses (or buy used lenses at a fraction of the cost of new) to greatly expand this wonderful camera system with a $ investment!!!!!!! B&H service was great as always!

Poor design

Fits, but poor design, leaving Nikon lenses oriented sideways rather properly oriented. Returned.

This a great product which very much enchances the value of the Sony NEX. Easy to use and very sturdy with a feeling of high quality construction. No auto focus or aperature but at this price that is not expected or a problem. Very happy with the adapter.

Does the job

This very simple adaptor allows you to screw a Nikkor lens onto the front of a NEX 20 video camera. It's weakness is also it's best feature, the lens you attach is fully manual as autofocus and auto exposure functions usually found on typical video cameras do not function on the Nikon lenses. As a still photographer for many years I find the auto features of most video cameras to be extremely annoying and hard to defeat at times to get what I want from the camera. A normal 50mm 1.4 35mm camera lens becomes an excellent portrait/interview lens with shallow depth of field and extremely fast compared to the kit zoom lens in low light situations. A 60mm Macro becomes a fabulous close up lens. This is a very useful tool to recycle old Nikkor lenses at a reasonable price.

A great Way To Use Older Nikon Lenses

Simple to use..snap in place like any lens, attaach your lens to the adaptor, set f stop on lens, focus shot using lens control, set shutter speed in camera. It works well with all my old lenses and it is well built to last.

Well designed, works well, I buy

Well designed adapter. The locks work very well (NO lens falling off) This adapter is built out of good material and the design is great and easy to use. I would buy it again but it is so well built I don't see that happening.

It clicks tight

I'm happy it hold my lens to the VG20 tight and secure, so I can focus on more important things.

question

Does the ABNEXN Adapter works with third party lenses for Nikon mount like Sigma or Tamron?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes; as long as the lens uses the standard Nikon F-mount, the Bower ABNEXN Adapter for Nikon Lens to Sony NEX Camera will allow you to attach the lens to a Sony NEX camera using the Sony E-mount. Do note that, as stated in the Overview, the adapter does not transfer functions such as auto focus from the camera to the lens, so all lens operations (focus, aperture control) are manual.

question

the photo shows a Kipon adapter. Is that actually what this is? I ask because the Kipon is reputedly one of the few adapters priced below $100 which is close enough to the right length that when you rack your lens over to the infinity stop, the focus doesn't go past infinity into never-never land. I've tried four other brands and they are each too short some by as much as .011.
Asked by: john
This adapter will focus to, not past infinity.
