  • 1Description

The Nady DMK-7 Drum Microphone Kit is a complete 7-piece drum microphone kit with four DM70 instrument microphones, two CM88 condenser microphones, a DM80 kick drum microphone, mounting clips, and a foam-lined storage case. The 7-piece set is intended for large drum microphone placement, percussion arrays, amplifier cabinets, and general instrument capturing in live sound and recording applications. The CM88 small diaphragm condenser microphones are ideal for stereo overhead cymbals. Both microphones are flexible and feature a wide frequency response for capturing a wide variety of instruments.

Nady DMK-7 reviews

DMK-7 Drum Microphone Kit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid build, decent sound quality... First impression...I have been using my Nady DMK-7 mic set for about 2 weeks now. My first impression was the quality of the build/hardware. These mics have some weight and feel solid when you pick them up. Value...The set includes all the clips and a padded carrying case. At this price, that alone makes the Nady DMK-7 worth looking at for your first set of entry level drums mics. 7 mics for $ with a case AND clips??? (as of Oct 2012) You can't beat that pricing.Sound Quality...The tom mics stand out in this set. They sound pretty darn good! The kick mic needs some aggressive EQ to bring out the drum to its full potential but that is true of most mics. The condensers are crisp with a high SPL rating, nice for overhead or close miking cymbals. My only compliant is that they condensers are not a matched pair. This is will introduce minor level & phase differences if you are doing a close X-Y overhead pattern during recording, but at this price point I don't see that being a big problem for first time users.Final Thoughts...A good set of mics for the price, overheads need to be setup with care to get the most of of them. I would recomend them to any drummer or tech needing a low cost & flexible drum mic setup. A mixer with sweepable mids is required for overcoming frequency response deficiencies in the kick mic.
