I purchased this to connect my mic to my canon vixia hf m52 and it works wonderfully! I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to connect a mic to thier camera who only has a mic port on the camera but an actual xlr port on the mic. Thank b&h for the great deal!

I purchased this product for a video a friend of mine had coming up. After looking around, this seemed the best solution, for my T3i, and the most cost effective. One of the things that are great about it, is that the cord is nice and flexible. I've had cords that are stiff and a pain to work with. The other thing, is that the XLR end feels very solid, and well built. The one con, is that the audio level goes down a bit, not a whole lot, but a noticeable amount. This was easily remedied in my recording level menu. All in all, this cord works as I had hoped it would.

I used this paried with my Canon 60D and RODE NTG-2. Noise almost is non-existent and makes for great run-and-gun shooting. The right angle connector ensures the cable won't pop out if the mic starts to move too far away.

The Canon 80 D will not deliver phantom power. It offers a very low voltage known as plug-in power . Power will not be carried over this cable successfully.

To get additional length to the cable can I add an additional cable such as another XLR cable or another 3.5mm cable? If so will it affect sound quality?

You would need to do a calculation based on the electrical characteristics of your cable and the length to ascertain if the loss will be noticeable. But realistically your loss should be negligible using most balanced. I suggest a star quad type cable (4 conductor, shielded individually).
