The 1.5' Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord provides creative photographers with the ability to remotely fire Canon flashes with E-TTL / E-TTL II capabilities. Removing the flash from the camera's hot shoe allows the photographer to create unique and dramatic lighting styles that are not possible with a traditional shoe-mounted strobe. This coiled cord measures 1.5', which is enough distance to accommodate hand-held lighting styles, or when keeping the flash mounted on a compact flash bracket. Also, off-camera lighting reduces the harsh shadows commonly encountered with direct on-camera flashes and gives your photographs a more natural look.

One side of the TTL cable fits directly into the camera's hot shoe to ensure that all of the camera's exposure data is maintained. The other side can be attached to any stand, tripod, or device with a standard 1/4"-20 threaded stud or flash shoe mount, and the shoe has a locking knob to ensure your equipment is secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant for Flash Bracket Users Using traditional off-camera cords with flip brackets and flash brackets always results in excess coils of cord that clutter the rig and get in your way. This more compact cord alleviates that problem without sacrificing any functionality. The build quality of the Vello cords (I own a few different models) is virtually identical to the Canon original, and at a fraction of the price I can buy backup cords and still be ahead of the game. Vastly superior to other products on the market (like Dot Line), who don't even offer a compact cord like this. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Why pay more? This cord is entirely adequate and seemingly robust. Only time will tell on the latter. Unlike the last one I had and lost, this one has a locking/ tightening wheel on the shoe on the end opposite the camera. That's very important since it has to support the weight of the flash. I can't compare it to the Canon brand cord because I have never owned one. Canon is ridiculously expensive compared to this. Get this one first and try it. The cost is so low you can afford to toss it on the backup pile and go get the Canon if you're that much of a brand name snob.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good-bye Canon Flash Cords - Hello Vello! I just got this flash cord & do not know how it will fair over time with a lot of use. It appears to be made extremely well. It's far superior to Canon's own product IMO. From the locking mechanism when attached to the flash head to the newer bayonet style locking mechanism attachment to the camera's hot shoe ....and for nearly 1/3 the price of the Canon brand one. I also like the much shorter 1 1/2 ft coiled coil model which doesn't get in the way when flipping a flash bracket like the Canon cord does. Canon should be ashamed of themselves for not making their own brand flash cord of equal quality!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little product I was looking for a TTL cable that would allow me to use my Nissin i40 off camera with my XPro1 fuji. After much searching and asking around on the internet, I found that the Canon E-TTL cable was compatible with the Fuji flash system. It works great and allows me to create the exact effect I wanted. Also, the vello was only a fraction of the cost of the Canon unit. The cable seems to be very substantial and locks securely into the hot shoe on the camera. The hot shoe on the cable has a nicely knurled knob so it can be attached to a flash bracket or similar mount. It also sports a 1/4-20 threaded hole in the base of the hot shoe that accommodates either a Q/R plate or a regular tripod mount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Off-Camera Flash Cord I used the The Vello TTL-Off-Camera Flash Cord between the Canon 5D Mark III and the Canon 600ex-rt flash mount on the RF-PRO flash bracket. There is much to say but only to mention the good thing the Vello TTL-Off-Camera Flash Cord does. The first thing, the length of the cord is just right. It does not get in the way of rotation. It allow you to achieve the auto focus between the flash and the camera at all times. At present I can say that it is seems to be very sturdy cord. In all I can say that I have achieve my goal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skip the Canon OCE3 Off Camera Shoe Cord I just had my second Canon OC-E3 Off Camera Shoe Cord 3 fall apart at a portrait shoot. (that's two in the last 3 months) Considering the quality of the Canon cord and cost ($!!)I knew I had to start trying other options. The following day I had a huge shoot with 120 football portriats and had to rely on my new Vello. Let me just say this cord did NOT miss a beat or in this case flash. I use it with a 5D Mark II and RRS L-bracket. All my portriats came out consistent. The only thing I would say to be careful of is cord length. It says 1.5', but the stretch to my L-bracket when shooting vertical is a stretch. It is coiled VERY tightly. I will go with the 3 foot cord on my next order and be buying backups. For $ & $ these cords can't be beat! Skip the Cancon OC-E3 for sure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I use the short cord to have a flash on a camera bracket I bought the Canon cord and paid $60 and it last me 2 months. I got for half of the price of the canon TWO Vello cords and they are looking good, they are cheap but they don't look cheap, very well made...maybe better then the canon cord. Until today the cord is working fine and I diin't have to use the back up yet. I use this cord for weddings and I need to have all my equipment to be functional at 100% and I feel confident that I made a great purchase by not buying the canon cord again. Vello cord...I reccomend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well made but didn't fit my exact need I've seen other aftermarket flash cords for Canon TTL and I think this better made than most. For example, there are locks at both ends of the cord. And this works fine with my Canon 7D and Canon Speedlite 430EX. However, I bought it specifically to go with my Fuji X100 (because the cord was so compact) but the cord was very difficult to mount on the camera's hot shoe: The pins were ever so slightly too large and it would only mount if I wedged the pins with a small screwdriver as I was sliding it onto the hot shoe. Much too cumbersome to be useful in the field.
