Key Features
  • Compatible with Canon E-TTL / E-TTL II
  • Coiled Cord
  • Mounts to Flash Shoe
  • Mounts to 1/4"-20 Threaded Studs
The 1.5' Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord provides creative photographers with the ability to remotely fire Canon flashes with E-TTL / E-TTL II capabilities. Removing the flash from the camera's hot shoe allows the photographer to create unique and dramatic lighting styles that are not possible with a traditional shoe-mounted strobe. This coiled cord measures 1.5', which is enough distance to accommodate hand-held lighting styles or when keeping the flash mounted on a compact flash bracket. Also, off-camera lighting reduces the harsh shadows commonly encountered with direct on-camera flashes and gives your photographs a more natural look.

Vello OCS-C OSC-C Overview

One side of the TTL cable fits directly into the camera's hot shoe to ensure that all of the camera's exposure data is maintained. The other side can be attached to any stand, tripod, or device with a standard 1/4"-20 threaded stud or flash shoe mount, and the shoe has a locking knob to ensure your equipment is secure.

Vello OCS-C OSC-C Reviews

It works as advertised...but

It works, my strobes works, nothing bad but...when the 'remote' part of the unit attaches via a lock down spinning 'thingie', I can't get it tight enough to stay all day. It periodically gets loose on long shoots. My fingers can't grip it tight enough.

Excellent flash cables

Like all of the cables on the market, the wings of the connection are plastic and easily breakable. This is to protect the camera's hotshoe. The cost of these cable which do a great job is low enough to encourage photographers to keep one or two spares on hand.

Works well, but treat it carefully

I had one of these and it works great, but I left it in a bag with other odds and ends. Turns out the parts that hold the bigger end together are held internally by plastic pieces less than 1mm thick in any direction. They broke and it came apart in three pieces with only the wiring holding it together. It worked great up to that point, but it just not built very durably.

What I needed.  Canon version works for Panasonic, too.

The shorter version is not available in a Panasonic/Olympus version, but the Canon has pins in the same places, just one extra, so dumb devices like this work. This is just what I needed to move my large flash to the side on a bracket instead of on top, where it really sticks out. It is a shame that the bracket from the same manufacturer has a mounting screw just slightly too long for their own cable when used without the bracket shoe. Or maybe this cable has a hole not deep enough. I had to add a washer between the screw knob and bracket to get it to bind tight enough for the flash to not rotate.

Works great with a Flash Bracket

Haven't had one fail yet. A cheaper alternative to the Canon OC-E3 which did fail. After the Canon OC-E3 broke I never trusted them again. This was years ago and MAYBE Canon fixed it. I like that there are metal shoes on both ends, not shown in any pictures I have seen on B&H. I bought the 1.5' size, which is nice when using a Flash Bracket because there is no extra cord to contend with. I will attach some photos. Couldn't find much better than this Vello brand.

question

Hi, I would like to know if this flash cord would fit on top of a Wimberley F-1 telephoto bracket.Thank you

Yes it would. The bracket side of the cable features a standard 1/4-20 thread size which is the same as the mounting screw on the bracket.

question

Can I use this cord to connect my canon 5d mk iii with a canon gp e2 GPS receiver?
Asked by: Michael T.
I am using mine with a G 15 and an 270 EX flash. I would suggest calling CANON to see if their flash cord would work for your needs. If they say yes I would assume that this cord would work also.
