Featuring a 30mm one-piece tube, constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum, the Viper HS 4-16x50 LR Riflescope from Vortex delivers top-tier performance for precision long-range shooters.

The Viper HS is configured with a high-performance optical system. XD lens elements have been employed to ensure maximum resolution and contrast. The entire optical path is fully multicoated with Vortex's anti-reflective XR coatings for optimum light transmission. A new optical system highlighted with a 4x zoom range provides magnification versatility. The user-friendly eye box with increased eye relief puts shooters on target quickly and easily. The Viper HS delivers increased windage and elevation for optimal adjustment. Finally, the external lens surfaces have been treated with ArmorTek - an ultra-hard scratch-resistant coating that repels water, oil, and salts.

The tube's exterior is hard-coat anodized, o-ring sealed and purged with argon gas to ensure a fog-resistant, water-tight seal. The Viper HS 4-16x50 LR (LR for Long Range) features an exposed tall elevation turret with Vortex's CRS (Customizable Rotational Stop) zero stop. Combine that with 75 MOA of elevation adjustment (24 MOA per revolution) and you get a riflescope perfect for precision long-range shots.

Optical Performance
  • XD lens elements: extra-low dispersion glass for maximum resolution, color, and contrast
  • XR lens coating: Vortex proprietary XR fully multi-coated lens coatings increase light transmission for maximum brightness
  • ArmorTek Coating: ultra-hard scratch resistant coating applied to the exterior lens surfaces repels oils, salts and dirt and provides abrasion protection
  • Dead-Hold BDC Reticle: customized hash mark design helps eliminate guesswork on hold-over and windage corrections where estimating hold-over is a concern
Construction Details
  • One-piece 30 mm main-tube for greater strength and wider adjustment latitude
  • Lenses are locked in place with machined locking rings to remain in perfect alignment and withstand recoil and impact
  • Aluminum construction from a solid block of aircraft-grade aluminum delivers increased strength and rigidity
  • Hard-coat anodization is durable and the low-glare matte helps camouflage the shooter's position
  • Waterproofed and fogproofed with o-ring seals and argon purged
Use and Handling
  • Tall open-type elevation turret with 1/2 MOA clicks and 24 MOA per turn allows rapid, accurate dialing of hold over corrections when desired
  • Fast focus eyepiece: quick and easy reticle focusing
  • Customizable Rotational Stop (CRS) prevents dialing more than one rotation below your zero so you don't lose the zero when dialing large amounts of elevation corrections
  • MagView Bar: fiber optics magnification indicator with raised rear-facing magnification references for clear viewing in low light conditions
  • Travel per Rotation: 24 MOA for elevation and 12 MOA for windage for quick turret changes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of the best! I bought this rifle scope about a year ago. It has met and exceeded my expectations over and over again. Bright and clear glass at first light which also holds true for evening light. I've never had it fog up. Usually hunting seasons for me are very cold, and all the dials still function flawlessly and the glass is always clear. The BDC reticle is dead on. I have my zero set at 200 yards and I've confidently killed animals at 500 yards using the BDC. I will never own another optic brand! Between the unlimited lifetime warranty and the quality of product you can't go wrong!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it I have always bought nice rifles and didn't spend much on optics. Go figure that i never was happy with how they shoot. Well I finally dug deep, opted to ask forgiveness from the wife, and stuck this baby on my Savage 10pc in 308. I never could get groups under 1.25 before. Now they are in the same hole and all i changed was the scope. I am beyond pleased! good features, great glass, and a price that won't have you sleeping on the couch too long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Viper I have 8 Vortex scope 4 different type I'm not disappointed with any. But there guarantee is platinum . I sent them a scope that got bent and replaced it no question asked. About 10 days it arrived Fedex.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best long range shooting scope I've used I bought this about two years ago to put on my Remington 700 in 308 win. This was not a long range rifle before, but with this scope, I have shot out to 1000 yards easily with factory ammo. I used a magneto-speed chronograph along with the Vortex LRBC to create a chart. I use a Vortex Ranger 1500 rangefinder and dial the turret according to the chart range, its all very consistent. Every time I use the turrets and return to zero, the rifle is still dead on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Scope, but be aware of the MOA difference. I bought this scope not too long ago and I mounted it on a custom rifle. The scope is incredible and I love everything about it. The only thing that I struggled with, was the MOA. I have been shooting with scopes that measured in inches all my life. The slight shift in thinking requires a little getting used to, but I highly recommend the scope. Just be prepared to do a little reading up, if you are not familiar with the MOA measurements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coyote killer! I bought this optic about a year and a half ago to out fit my Remington 700 chambered in .308 Winchester for deer hunting. Although I easily have put down a few whitetail last hunting season with this optic on my rifle, I have put more coyotes down then ever before. The clarity and the easy to BDC and the zero reset functions make popping coyotes 600 yds away easy as 25 yards! And man does it just look sweet sitting on top of a rifle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality and Performance I mounted the Viper HS LR 4-16x50 on my 6.5 creedmoor. I was immediately impressed with the glass quality and overall construction, including the 30 mm tube, parallax adjustment, and function of the exposed turret. After some practice, I was able to make an ethical shot on a deer at 600 yards, my personal long. One of the features on this scope I would caution others about is the 1/2 MOA adjustment on the elevation turret. If you are like me, you will find that at a 200 yard zero, the adjustment is too great and a solid zero is unattainable (1 click= 1 inch). The other downfall to this scope is the shim system for a zero stop. It can be a cumbersome process getting it set correctly. However, this scope is the budget minded hunters' dream come true. It offers several features of higher end scopes while keeping the price manageable. Surely a great value!
