Featuring a 30mm one-piece tube, constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum, the Viper HS 4-16x50 Riflescope from Vortex delivers top-tier performance for precision long-range shooters.

The Viper HS is configured with a high-performance optical system. XD lens elements have been employed to ensure maximum resolution and contrast. The entire optical path is fully multicoated with Vortex's anti-reflective XR coatings for optimum light transmission. An optical system highlighted with a 4x zoom range provides magnification versatility. The user-friendly eye box with increased eye relief puts shooters on target quickly and easily. The Viper HS delivers increased windage and elevation for optimal adjustment. Finally, the external lens surfaces have been treated with ArmorTek - an ultra-hard scratch-resistant coating that repels water, oil, and salts.

The tube's exterior is hard-coat anodized, o-ring sealed and purged with argon gas to ensure a fog-resistant, water-tight seal. The Viper HS 4-16x50 features capped turrets that protect the adjustments from unexpected impacts. There is a fast reticle focus eyepiece and a fiber optics magnification indicator for clear viewing in low light conditions. Combine that with 50 MOA of elevation adjustment (12 MOA per revolution) and you get a riflescope that offer hunters and shooters an array of quality features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product at a Great Price I bought this to put on a pre-64 Model 70 Winchester Featherweight 30-06 I inherited from my father who passed away a few years ago. He had an old Nikon 3-9 X 42 on it and what a difference this Vortex VHS 4-16 X 50 makes! The quality of the scope is excellent. I would definitely purchase again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from the jury is not out (still in) on this one! I just acquired this Viper HS 4-16X50, used (previously owned) because of satisfactory experience with my 2 Viper 6.5-20X50 scopes. Obviously, the quality control slipped or the previous owner subjected the scope to some type of unseen abuse. The scope looks just fine from the outside but getting a good focus at any normal range is impossible. The image appears to be partially focused in some areas but focused in others (first time for me). I had planned to put the scope on a 7 Rem Mag but decided to try it out on a super accurate .243W. I used Leupold 30mm standard rings and carefully torqued the T15 screws to 15 inch pounds after checking ring alignment. Comparing the scope to others (Weaver and Leupold) definitely showed this Vortex to have definitely inferior image quality and resolution and comparing it to my Viper 6.5-20X50 also showed it to be inferior. I carefully removed parallax and was able to hit a 3 inch diameter disk at 300 after sighting in with 10/10 rounds - looks like adjustments work and nothing jiggled loose inside (yet). Needless to say I have little confidence in this scope and should it be restored to a satisfactory resolution (focus) it will be used for casual rodent hunts - if exceeding 18 inch pound of ring torque messes stuff up what about subjecting this scope that has probably thin tube walls to tough hunting situations?. I will send the scope back for VIP adjustment and analysis - a satisfactory experience will elevate my rating from 2 to 4 (stars) The verdict is not in!
