Jill-E Designs 49698 overview

  • 1Description

The Jack Large Rolling Brown Columbian Leather Camera / Carry Bag from Jill-E Designs is a bag for all seasons. Stylish, functional and large enough to hold a ton of stuff, the Jack is more than full-featured.

Constructed of brown Columbian leather, the bag is weather-proof so there's no danger of walking in the rain with it. It holds a mountain of gear including camera bodies, lenses, and a 17" laptop. And, since that represents a considerable amount of weight, you'll find the built-in wheels a blessing along with the convenience of a telescopic handle for rushing through parking lots, airports and hotel lobbies. However, if you don't need the handle, there are an additional two strong carry handles.

There are two main compartments that contain well-padded and movable dividers so you can configure the bag to support whatever gear you happen to need for a particular gig . There's also a separate section for your 17" laptop plus plenty of extra space for the incidentals - batteries, cables, memory cards and the like.

If the bag gets dirty, clean it with a damp cloth. Backed by a one-year warranty, the Jack Large Rolling Bag will make handling all that equipment on those tough location shoots easier and more efficient.

Jack Large Rolling Brown Columbian Leather Camera / Carry Bag (Brown) is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks big, but can't fit much in it This bag looks huge. Judging by site I was sure I could fit all my gear. what did I want to carry? 2 35mm bodies, 2 flashes, 70-200 lens, 50mm, 35mm and maybe one or two more lenses. The flashes can fit in the outside pockets, and that seems a great place to access them. I wanted to be able to wheel or carry this bag along as I shoot and just reach in for a lens change. There is a pocket inside for a laptop that I don't need and it took up a lot of interior space. The retractable handle gobbles up more. It ends up being a very big bag that can't fit very much equipment. Too bad, nice styling and construction looks good, but can't deliver

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the money I've used this bag for a few years now and cannot wait to get rid of it. The first year it was wonderful, but as time went on the bag became less stable and now never sits upright (falls over to the front). I've tried packing the bag differently, but it doesn't help at all. The outside pockets are constantly getting caught on doorways, chairs, people, etc. Find something more sturdy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not my best purchase When i saw this bag(and read what it could contain) i was so thrilled that i found a bag that is stylish and practical and easy on my back (i have another one that i carry on my shoulder). But when i finally got it, i realized that the bag is not practical at all. Now i only carry my laptop in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bag! I love this bag so much! I knew it wasn't going to be huge when I got it so I would love more room but it is the perfect size for my camera, gear, and laptop. Stylish, comfortable to use, and saves my back and shoulders!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty, but inefficient On looks alone, this is a great bag. But it's too big and too expensive for what it can carry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the bag. Hate the wheels. I've been using this bag (the black version) for a few years now. Like all camera bags, there are pros and cons. I have come to accept the fact that is the bag that's most suitable for my needs...except, I absolutely hate the wheels! I take this bag mostly on shorter outdoor shoots (family, senior, etc.) and the size and design is perfect. I love that it opens from top so I can grab my lens quickly, and I love all the side pockets for my wallet, phone, batteries, memory cards, etc. However, if I ever encounter rougher terrain (ie - trails, uneven path, grass, bark, etc), I start to get upset at the stupid person who chose these wheels for professional photographers out in the field. I hesitate to even call them wheels bc they're so small and hidden underneath that if you ever get mud/grass/dirt in them, the wheels stop turning. I don't understand why Jill-E doesn't use those inline type wheels like the other camera bag companies. If they improved on the wheels (and maybe made the handle a bit more sturdy), then I'd have no problem giving this 5 stars and calling it my all time favorite camera bag. Such a shame.
