    Polaroid PL-108AF reviews

PL-108AF Flash for Sony/Minolta Cameras is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good flash depending on Task I bought it to use for this fashion show at my school, the practice before the actual show I took it with me so I could know how to use it. It worked good but it is not made for high usage, it recycles fast but it does not fully charge back, pictures will come out pitch black if you use it too fast. I burnt it out during the practice because I guess I pushed it to its limit, but if you just new it for light work then I guess you can try it, would not reccomend it for an event.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I really liked the flash but... My first impression of this flash was that it is good. I like the compact size and tried all the features before writing this review. I left it on and watched it power itself down. My Sony a230 recognized it and the low light red light worked. I still would not write a review until I used it and my daughter's Christmas program was this Friday. I liked being able to see the flash charge in my viewfinder. It was a lot better than having to look up (I also have a Bower Flash that is strictly manual). The flash output is okay. It is not as low and I have seen on some reviews on other websites; however, it is not as powerful and some other flashes. I would rate it in the middle; which is okay considering that it only uses two batteries (my Bower takes four). Anyway, I put it to use. Anyone who has taken photos of children will have experieced how in second you could loose a perfect smile, look, pose, or moment and the flash could not recharge after several firings! I had to reach in my bag and pull out my old Bower to use while this flash charged up again. At first it performed okay. It charged fast and fired. To be honest I most likely fired it a few times before it fully charged. Nevertheless, it got to the point where it wouldn't fire and I had to use my old flash. This flash is hard to hate. It is a great little flash. I really want to give it five stars. Nevertheless, I can't. After repeated use the charge time is way over the 3 to 10 seconds listed. It started off that fast, but slowed down. I am not sure if I will keep it or send it back.
