    Vello SE-10 reviews

4" Cold Shoe Extension is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unsafe Cheap Plastic Material Typical shoe extension design but weak plastic material.I bought 2 of these (one for backup) and on the 7-8 use at a wedding it broke sending my LED light to a guest's shoulder missing her head a few inches! Talk about lawsuits! I only had the LED light and a Nikon stereo mic mounted when it happened and they weighed only a total of 1.3lbs!!We cannot have products like these on the market. These must be re-called and taken off the shelves. ..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor build quality Does it work, YES...but I would not put much weight on it being that it's made out of plastic!!! For the price, I really was expecting metal. I did however just try it out being it's a new product to the B&H store and there were no reviews. I use this with a Canon mini shoe adapter to mount a Zoom H4n and Azden SGM1X to the top of my camera. Overall, I would use this to mount a light weight LED light that you want to slide left or right, much more than that and you start to over-load it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does Its Job I got this extension to mount both a shotgun mic and a wireless receiver to the hot shoe of my DSLR. They just barely fit. A plus of this extension is that it allows me to move where I mount my mic a bit further forward, so it's extending over the lens instead of hitting me in the head, as it does when I normally mount it to my hot shoe. The major drawback of this product is that its plastic. For the price, I'd expect something better. It's also a bit difficult to adjust the top screw (the one that allows you to move the extension back and forth) and the bottom screw (the one that locks it down onto the hot shoe) because they're directly on top of each other.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I wish there was a bigger version The Cold shoe extention does its job,but even one more inch would have made a diffrance. Im trying to mount the Rode VideoMic and the Sunpack 96led video light on and it just bearly fits. But this is the only Rail in this price range. Gotta make do with whay you got.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It Does what it Should I think this is a good size as I only needed it for two shoe mount items. However, it's made of plastic (seems to be high quality plastic, though) and the shoe mount is slightly wobbly. If you tighten it to where it doesn't wobble (which is apparently over-tightening it) you'll get a bulge in the other side which makes it impossible to add a shoe mount device. So, if you can live with it being slightly wobbly, then it's not a bad item. For me, it's no big deal as I'm using it to hold things that don't need pointing in any certain direction.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does its job This cold shoe extension is light weight and is the perfect size to mount my rode video mic pro and my recorder. But when i first took it out of the packaging and started to adjust it so the rail doesn't swing around the lower rail that connects the cold shoe mount to the rail cracked. I got around this by using some thread lock and using the other side that wasn't cracked.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A little short This product doesn't totally live up to my expectations as far as quality and usability goes. It is made from a type of plastic which I'm sure is sufficient for most uses and keeps the weight on the camera down but it does feel quite cheap. It is also a bit short in length and would have been more functional for my applications if it was 1-2 inches longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works For Its Purpose I purchased this product to allow for placement of both of both a Sennheiser wireless microphone receiver and a mount for a shotgun microphone to use the same hot shoe on my Canon T3I. It works. I'm able to fit both units on top of the camera. The channel on the top of the adapter allows me to adjust the position of the microphone and the microphone receiver to get the shotgun microphone as close to the midline of the lens as possible while still having room for the wireless receiver.
