Key Features
  • 3.0 Solid Neutral Density Filter
  • 1000x Filter Factor, 10-Stop
  • Darkens Entire Image
  • Allows Reduced Shutter Speed
The B+W 77mm SC 110 ND 3.0 Filter is a neutral density filter with a 1000x filter factor that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. Its 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you can control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

B+W SC 110 Overview

The B+W 77mm SC 110 ND 3.0 Filter is a neutral density filter with a 1000x filter factor that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes one layer of anti-reflection coating. B+W filters are constructed from SCHOTT glass for increased optical clarity. This filter features a brass filter ring for durability as well as to prevent jamming.

If I have a Nikon D3300, what size should I get?

If I have a Nikon D3300, what size should I get?
Asked by: LC
The D3300 is an interchangeable lens camera so it depends what lens is on the camera. We will go on the assumption it has the 18-55mm f/ f/3.5 - 5.6 lens. That lens has a 55mm filter thread and that is the size you should get. Or if it has the 70-300mm f/4.5 - 6.3 lens, please get a 58mm filter.

question

I understand that this particular filter only has one layer of coating versus the updated version which is multi coated against smears, water, etc. B&W refers to this upgrade as 'MRC' (multi resistant coating). 1) Do you offer the upgraded version as I cannot find it on your website, 2) what is the price difference (if any)?
Asked by: Anonymous
The multi-coated version of this filter would be B&H # BW110MC77. You can also find the item using the following link, http://bhpho.to/1npYO4O.

question

Can I stack this ND filter with the B+W - 52mm Circular Polarizer MRC Filter on my Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G EDII AF-S DX Zoom lens? What would be the risk/effect of vignetting (if any) in doing so?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, you can stack the B+W 52mm 3.0 ND filter with the B+W 52mm Circular Polarizer MRC, but you will need to attach this filter first before the polarizer goes on. There is less risk with vignette so much as there may be issues with ghosting due to the stacking of elements.

question

i have a nikon d90 and my lens is a 18-55 the number 52 is located by the serial # off the lens so I was told to go by that # so will this filter fit and I'm planning on taking pictures of the ocean and sky ..looking for that long exposure effect will this filter work for what I'm doing?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, this is the proper size and type of filter for you to purchase for your Nikon 18-55mm lens and your application. Using this type of filter will allow you to shoot with slower shutterspeeds in brightly lit conditions.

Does this filter have a "normal" stop where it acts like a UV filter and doesn't darken the image or will automatically darken when put on?
Asked by: Jake
It’s not a variable filter, so you want your focus and everything set before putting it on your camera
