The B+W 52mm MRC 110M Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter is an ND filter with a 1,000x filter factor that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. Its 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes eight layers of anti-reflection coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also offers greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. B+W filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity. This filter features an F-Pro brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I use this filter for long exposure photos during midday sunshine in Los Angeles. It works VERY well. I used to have a similar ND from Hoya and I find the B+W to be far superior. The MRC coating seems to be worth it as I have yet to see any scratches or nicks. My Hoya had light scratches almost immediately. Even with careful usage and no drops. I do not use cleanser of any type. Just a clean micro fiber cloth. This filter will definitely leave a warm tone to your photos and you'll notice some vignetting. Both easily fixable in Photoshop if you choose to do so. Don't hesitate to get one today. You'll be glad you did. Superb for making traffic and pedestrians disappear or for adding blur to waterfalls, etc. Excellent lazy-shutter shots in cities. The list goes on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remarkable durability! The 5 stars above are given to B+W for the durability of its MC coating. On the day I took delivery of this B+W filter from B+H, I dropped the 1/4 to 3/8inch adapter of my Manfrotto Nano Clamp accidentally on it. As the metal adapter bounced off the filter, my heart sank... However, on closer examination, there was not a dent or a scratch on it! Needless to say, my heart sang! The threads on both sides of each of B+W's F-Pro and XS-Pro filters come in very handy! I have learnt that this works best with Manual Mode. In the past, my architecture photos were filled with moving people. I am now able to capture photos sans people without overexposure - provided they are not stationary throughout!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wow 9 stops is a lot of filtering I am working shooting seascapes and other moving water landscape shots. In bright light this filter is incredible for slowing your shutter...I have been able to achieve 10-15 second shutters is full daylight. Looking forward to a full workout in Yosemite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Results there is a very slight warm cast the filter adds to the color of your photo but it's very subtle and can be easily corrected. I'm talking like 5 points in the temperature slider, not much at all. On the other hand the filter is very clear, it cleans well, and the coating is definitely 10 stops according to my results. I have nothing bad to say about this filter. I have included an example below. German B+W filters are legendary, what can I say =)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and Reliability I purchased two of this product to expose a 3 minute scene in the middle of a busy city. The 20 overall stops of light I knocked down from two 3.0 filters was perfect for turning the bustling streets into a ghost town.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Striking Results I had to pay a bit for this one, but nothing beats a 3.0 filter for fancy photography of waterfalls and other active items in broad daylight. The ability to shoot a time exposure in such conditions really opens artistic doors. I used one for years on several lenses for my old Minolta SRT-102. Now I have one to mate with my Voigtlander 25/0.95, the fastest lens for my Olympus OMD EM5 2. I figure a specialized filter like this should be top-notch quality, so I go for the B+W.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nearly unbeatable filters As far as I'm concerned B&W is my first go-to name for anything filter related. I also have a very good polarizing filter from them and its truly awesome. They cost more than other brands but as they're worth every penny in my opinion. They use the best glass that I know of. Go for their top of the line coatings and models and you really wont be sorry. They also look and feel very nice to boot. Once you see the images you'll know exactly what I mean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks and feels solid, well built This is a dark, dark filter. It's well-built, heavy for its size really, and while it does have a slight color cast, that was easily eliminated by changing white balance settings in camera and through Lightroom and Photoshop as well. The price for this was outstanding. Locally, I couldn't find it... let alone find it for this price. The closest place to me said they'd order it, but it was at a premium plus shipping.
