Epson 157 reviews

157 Photo Black Ink Cartridge is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for B & W photo printing; but! I'm a professional artist. I both photograph & print all of my own work. Had R1900 machine for 5 yrs, but it died of too much gloss optimizer disease. R3000 seemed the next best barely affordable alternative. While it's nice to have a choice of blacks to print, the machine is an ink hog when it switches between matte & photo black. My question to Epson where does the lost ink go??? Huge expense if you print a lot of B & W or your color has a lot gray/black tonalities.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far I am delighted with the printer. Are you asking me to rate an ink? Hard to do when usually they work in tandem with other inks. The colours were not good at the beginning despite being told that the paper profiles had been loaded. Was referred to an expert who came in and soon set things straight and so far things are going quite smoothly. Love its B&W printing capability. Just wish selenium split toning was included but that is pure day dreaming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No drama, low cost, real thing, quick The headline just about covers it. The price is among the best out there, delivery is always quick (and lately much more reliable than Staples!), and B&H stocks all the various Epson inks (for 3 printers) I use. Great to be able to order small things like ink when I'm purchasing something else (photographic), as it's a quick/easy add-on. Genuine Epson, good price, B&H delivery and service, what's not to like?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I may consider ordering this direct from Epson I have noticed lately that when I order ink from B&H the expiration (shelf-life) dates are sometimes nearly expired. Epson lists these inks as having a 2 year shelf life (unopened.) When I get them in I'm noticing I may have 18 months left or only have as little as 6 months left on that expectancy. I'm hoping that does not become a problem for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Superior I give four stars because of the price, otherwise the K3 technology is great. The high price is an issue for all things inkjet these days, especially the high-end printers such as my R3000. The color spectrum is beautiful and the fade resistance of the prints is extraordinary too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from quality way overpriced I am happy with my R3000 but the OEM Epson ink is marked up by Epson way to much! printing should be cost effective to a point with Epson mid pro printers they have printers that cost tens of thousands of dollars that have refillable tanks but that is way out of my league I hate to use a CIS on my R3000 but if I can get Epson bulk ink to use in a CIS I will invest in that route, I waste a lot of ink if my printer is not used at least once a week due to clogged jets, I do a nozzle check before wasting any ink on Epson signature worthy pro paper, and depending on the temperature and humidity in South Carolina I find cleaning the head more often than should be needed, when I lived in western Pennsylvania it was much less needed, never less this stuff cost more than gold by weight (egagerated a bit) at around $300.00 + for a full set of Ink half the cost of the printer it's price gouging I am glad B&H has it for less than Epson's sale prices I only buy it from here, I hope printer manufacturers will one day stop pricing there ink at 800% profit more people would buy there products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typical Epson quality it is all I use what can I say the Epson inks are great. I've used them on my R210 and 4880 and now on the new R3000. They are consistant from batch to batch, who can ask for more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ink is Ink All the Epson K3 is perfect! A little expensive to replace the cartridges. I wished there was a continous ink supply system that was made BY Epson. Pricey.
