The Series 9 Double Fog 2 Filter from Formatt recreates the look of being outside in a heavy fog. This effect differs from a standard fog filter in that it does not generate the warmish, romantic glow that the standard version does. You'll find that most objects shot with a Double Fog remain sharp, however, contrast will be significantly reduced. Highlights will not flare to any appreciable degree.
The #2 Double Fog displays a heavier fog with lowered contrast being even more obvious. However, even at this higher level of diffusion, close-up subjects still retain their relative sharpness. Highlight flare is slightly stronger but continues to be under control. Your image is now subjected to the appearance of real fog but without the warm romantic glow of a standard Fog filter.
