The B+W 58mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter is a general use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections while providing over 99.8% light transmission, each glass surface includes multiple layers of anti-reflection coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also offers greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. The Nano coating associated with XS-Pro filters provides an additional eighth layer over the MRC, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.

B+W filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. This filter features a thin brass filter ring to minimize the potential for vignetting while enhancing durability and jamming prevention. To further reduce the possibility of vignetting when this filter is in use, the filter ring's outside diameter is slightly larger than the actual thread size. This may prevent the use of some lens manufacturer bayonet hoods.

This UV Haze filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Such filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your front lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

    58mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Filter Money Can Buy Honestly, there is nothing better. The quality of the glass, multicoating, and brass ring is the best of the best. These filters are beyond easy to clean, assuming you're able to get one dirty in the first place. The nano coating repels dirt and moisture, so they don't get dirty unless used very heavily in very dirty conditions. When they do get dirty, everything comes off very easily. These filters are incredibly clear, and the glass in very precisely ground and polished. I keep one on every lens I own, and I've never found any flaw in them. The quality of the machining and finishing of the black brass ring blows away any other filter from Hoya, Tiffen, etc. This is truly a quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the extra money Like many people, I figured that A UV filter is a UV filter, and purchased whatever looked okay and cheap. I had $ lenses mounted on $ cameras, with a $ filter mounted on the front. Then I started noticing how cheap filters DO affect your photos. A dark bar that appeared intermittently was due to a cheap polarizing lens. Uneven sky coloration was due to a UV filter that had developed some starnge hue over half the face; it was like it was changing into a grdauted ND filter! No more. I use B+W exclusively, and never have a care or worry. They are quality filters that never let you down or ruin the shot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding build, glass, coatings This is a great professional-quality filter for protecting the front element of your lens. The new Nano coating does an even better job than the already-excellent MRC coatings on other B+W filters, to the point that the risks of increasing optical aberrations such as flare are practically non-existent.Unlike most other filter brands, B+W makes their rings out of brass. This does add weight to their filters, but has the benefit of making them easy to remove (they rarely stick to other filters or to lens threads). The ring on this filter is noticeably thinner than the rings on B+W's standard filters, making it ideal for using on wide-angle lenses as there is reduced likelihood of vignetting. The filter is easier to clean than my 58mm Hoya Pro1 UV filter, which I have relegated to my second-best lens. The only problem with this filter is its price. In this case, however, you do get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear protection Schott glass for optical clarity and neutral color. Brass filter ring for non-binding to lens. Nano coating for filter protection and easier cleaning. B+W filters are excellant filters. Used on a Fujifilm X-T1 and 18-55 f/2.8 lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from B+W: it's hard to go wrong Superbly machined and coated. Brass, made in Germany. I've purchased several B+W filters from BHphotovideo, never disappointed. Screws on smoothly, my Panasonic 14-140mm bayonet lens hood and lens cap fit over the filter easily. Buy from BH, not you-know-who. Why risk getting an inferior copy-cat knock-off filter to save $5-$10?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the extra $$ I only by B+W and Heloipan filters. Reason is they simply are the best. This particular filter I bought for my Nikon 50mm F1.8 because I would get a blueish cast in particular situations. I popped this bad boy on and it corrected the issue. It did not soften or distort the image in any other situation as well. Because of this I just leave it on my lens in every situation. Highly recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality UV Filter This was more expensive than I expected to pay for a UV filter, but I read other reviews that noted the benefits of Schott glass & MRC coating. After spending money on the lenses, it made sense to use only quality glass for the filter. So far, I've been pleased with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Glass Better than any protective filter I have purchased before. Yes, it's primarily for lens protection, but since I'm stacking polarizer or ND filters on top as needed, this base filter must have exceptional optics. Of course, provides UV and color-cast control at lower light levels when aren't using the supplemental filters, so its performance is still important. Screws on a little rough, but since leaving on my Nikkor lens primarily, shouldn't be a problem.
