The B+W 72mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter is a general use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections while providing over 99.8% light transmission, each glass surface includes multiple layers of anti-reflection coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also offers greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. The Nano coating associated with XS-Pro filters provides an additional eighth layer over the MRC, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.

B+W filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. This filter features a thin brass filter ring to minimize the potential for vignetting while enhancing durability and jamming prevention. To further reduce the possibility of vignetting when this filter is in use, the filter ring's outside diameter is slightly larger than the actual thread size. This may prevent the use of some lens manufacturer bayonet hoods.

This UV Haze filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Such filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your front lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

    72mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 110.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from One and Only This is my go to UV filter for all my lenses. It never made sense to me when I saw folks purchase high quality glass and then place a substandard UV on it. This B+W XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano Filter fits the bill for me. The optical quality of the glass prevents any distortion or degradation of the lens optics. The nano coating helps water bead off and makes the filter simple to clean when need be, and the B+W quality brass ring has never frozen on to a lens like some aluminum ones have on me. All in all, a quality product with great performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive Quality Very impressed so far. Prior to choosing this filter, I was contemplating between Sony Ziess 72 mm and the Hoya multicoated HD. B+W is more money but you get all Brass ring, high quality glass, X-S Pro is very slim with outer threads for your lens cap. Also a special nano coating which makes cleaning very easy. After reading a lot of reviews, I noticed that Hoya had a lot of complaints regarding keeping it clean and Sony Ziess is just a multicoated protector and not a uv filter. Although when my B+W filter arrived, I was very disappointed as it had a very minor scratch and had to be returned. B&H quickly send me another one rightaway and the faulty one was sent back. Great customer service from B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and Build -- worth it Sure B+W filters are pricey, but you just spent $1K on a lens and you're thinking about saving money by buying a cheap filter. Makes no sense to me -- I want to get the best out of my gear and protect it at the same time -- B=W filters have never failed. The only other filters I buy are Heliopan and quite honestly in my humble opinion the two are comparable. I always check out B&H Photo's Used Department for filters before buying new -- their rating system is excellent, same great product with a hefty discount and B&H stands by everything they sell ... New and Used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was amazed at the difference. I thought that my old filters were fine. I was wrong. I now keep these (I've now bought several in different sizes) on my lenses all the time. I wanted protection without interference and that's what I got. It's so clear and transparent that it's like not having anything on the lens at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've upgraded all my filters to B&W. Simply the best in your hands as well as on your camera. When you hold a B&W filter and then screw it on the lens, you know you have a professional filter on the front of that expensive lens. We pay a lot for our lenses, I believe we should pay a tidy sum for our filters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Qulity Product I've been using B+W filters for many years now. They are always in front of any new lens that I buy, their fairly new MRC Nano filters are great and easy to clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Have! If you decided to use a filter on that lens you have spent a one thousand three hundreds dollars or so, what's the point in utilizing a cheap glass in front of it? buy the best money can buy, with B+W filters there is no visible degradation at all, nothing changes and the best part your expensive glass is protected. Think smart!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor QC Recently purchased this 72mm filter to find that the filter was difficult to screw onto the lens. Almost like the filter was slightly ovalized. Purchased a second filter which screwed onto the lens as expected. However this one had two circular patterns on the inside surface which I couldn't remove with a lens wipe.
