The B+W 77mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter is a general use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections while providing over 99.8% light transmission, each glass surface includes multiple layers of anti-reflection coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also offers greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. The Nano coating associated with XS-Pro filters provides an additional eighth layer over the MRC, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.

B+W filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. This filter features a thin brass filter ring to minimize the potential for vignetting while enhancing durability and jamming prevention. To further reduce the possibility of vignetting when this filter is in use, the filter ring's outside diameter is slightly larger than the actual thread size. This may prevent the use of some lens manufacturer bayonet hoods.

This UV Haze filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Such filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your front lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

    77mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 371.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great UV Filter! This is an excellent UV filter, the type of quality you'd expect from B+W. I used it on a Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 and shot with and without the filter to see if there was any loss off image quality and optics are not affected at all. Very impressed with this filter. Another plus with this particular model is that the B+W XS-Pro series are slim. It's like shooting without a filter but you know that you're lens' front element is protected and you're cutting out a certain amount of UV haze. So it's pro, pro, pro! I can't see any cons in using this filter. If you're considering one, don't hesitate, it's just a great filter & definitely worth the little bit extra.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Quality I think this is the best UV filter that I've ever purchased. The construction is obviously very sturdy. It mounts to the lens easily and smoothly and stays attached without slippage as opposed to other brands. That's a big point for me. Optically it is excellent. In high UV conditions (seaside, mountain tops) my film shots retain a great look. I don't notice any additional problems with the filter on in regards to ghosting or flare so their multi-coating technology used here must be good. I really like that the filter both seems to repel debris / moisture and is easy to clean when necessary. It is much easier to clean that other brands I own, which is another big bonus for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really slim ring... I bought this for a Canon EF 24-105 mm f/4L IS USM lens. I decided to spend a bit more for this UV filter and try this newer model/technology the sales clerk was talking about. This ring is half the height of the other 67 mm B+W filter I own, making it a really slim ring. I haven't seen any vignetting from it compared to all the other filters I've used. I've also had no problems removing or putting on the ring either. It fits well over the lens and underneath the lens cap. I have not needed to clean it yet after a month of light use, but there doesn't seem to be a dust farm on it even though it was pointed at a cat for a few days. The glass is really durable, as expected from a B+W filter. Worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using with Canon 16-35mm f/4 B+W filters are things of beauty. I got another model for my 70-200mm f/2.8L II, which allows me to simply wipe it down with my shirt if I need to, without worrying about scratching the front element of the lens. I got this XS-Pro today for my 16-35mm f/4L. I was a little worried about vignetting, even with this model, but I didn't want to go with the super-thin ones, because I wanted to be able to still use my lens caps! The lens caps fit on this filter, and I don't see any vignetting! (I thought it did at first, until I compared without the filter, and saw the vignetting was precisely the same). Glad to have that lens protected!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Been using B+W filters for years If it was half the price, I would rate it five stars in my dreams You buy a $1700 lens and you save a few dollars by equipping it with a prosumer-level fitter set. Not so smart. If you're going with the best lenses, you will not do any better than what you put in front of the lens. Filters are a critical choice. I always feel it when I buy these filters but the results show the difference. With something as simple as unscrewing a filter. I should have a filter wrench, but I've never had to use one with my B+Ws. I have had to help other photographers though and a filter wrench might come in handy there. The transmission of these filters are outstanding and the UV capabilities were well appreciated when shooting surfing action.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I expected This is a top quality filter in every way. I appreciate the level of craftsmanship in things and this and all B+W filters are made rugged and precise. I was happy to see how thin it was and yet it still has front threads so your lens cap can get a firm hold. I put this on a new Tamron 70-200 VC lens and it was the exact same diameter and fits great. The nano coating makes it very easy to clean without streaks. If you have used cheap filters you know how challenging it can be just to clean them, but it is a night and day difference when you get a quality filter with the nano coating. I can highly recommend this filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great filter I use UV and Clear filters on the front of all of my lenses. I have tried a lot of different brands and models of filter. I have settled in to using XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter exclusively. They clean easily and tend to stay clean. I have had trouble with scratching and pitting on other filters, but these have been very durable for me. They are also pretty thin so work well on my wide lenses. I highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best flare resistant filter that I have The only time that I used UV filters is when I'm shooting in the rain or down at the beach. I don't want another piece of glass that can give me flare problems, especially shooting in the direction of the sun. I'm an event photographer for several charities. There are three events that I shoot that forces me to shoot towards the sun. One was at Ocean City New Jersey on October 16 this year. Speakers are facing west, which means I'm shooting east at 9 AM with the sun at a low angle. Up until this year I have to shoot sideways at the people on stage to avoid flare, even though I shoot with nano coated lenses. I decided to try one of the nano coated B&W filters on my Nikor 24-120/4.0 VR using my D700. For the first time in four events that were sunny I was able to shoot direct on to the speakers, where all I have to worry about was compensating for the exposure. Not one picture out of 700 I shot that day had any flare. I now plan on equipping all but two of my lenses with the B&W nano coated UV filters. The two lenses that won't get the nano coated filters are my 200-400/4.0 VRI and 200/2.0 VRII.
