Key Features
  • Clear Protective Filter
  • Absorbs Ultraviolet Light
  • Reduces Bluish Cast of Daylight
  • 1x Filter Factor, No Exposure Change
The B+W 77mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter is a general use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections while providing over 99.8% light transmission, each glass surface includes multiple layers of anti-reflection coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also offers greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. The Nano coating associated with XS-Pro filters provides an additional eighth layer over the MRC, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.

B+W XS-Pro UV Haze Filter Overview

The B+W 77mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter is a general use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter.

B+W filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. This filter features a thin brass filter ring to minimize the potential for vignetting while enhancing durability and jamming prevention. To further reduce the possibility of vignetting when this filter is in use, the filter ring's outside diameter is slightly larger than the actual thread size. This may prevent the use of some lens manufacturer bayonet hoods.

This UV Haze filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Such filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your front lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

question

Is it fit for 16-35mm with 5d mark 2? I am worrying about vinetting. Also what is fifference btw mrc 007? 010 is added uv coating than 007 but price is lower than 007. Any performace degradation from 007 model? Thanks
Asked by: Anonymous
The 010 is a UV filter and the 007 is clear. Optically they are the same. UV helps with haze in the sky shots, and in general will increase and improve contrast.XS-Pro Digital is especially suited for DSLRs with wide angle lenses. This mount will avoid vignetting with most 17mm lenses on a full frame body. Some report success with lenses as wide as 16mm.

This lists the filter as a 010M, but the photo f the filters shows 010. What is the difference?
Asked by: Eric
010M and 010 MRC Nano is the same thing. M stands for multi coating. The filter ring spells it out, instead of having the M after 010. No difference, means the same thing.

Does any of you use this filter on film cameras? It's labelled as a "Digital" filter, which confuses me...Wondering what the real difference is and if there's another filter better recommended for using on film cameras. Thanks!
Asked by: Sid
I don't use it on a film camera (sorry) but if you want to get a simple filter, B+W also makes "clear" filters (not UV filter), the number is 007 instead of 010. I probably meant to get a 007 but the 010 has been fine! B+W are great quality. Recommend the MRC nano coating as it's easier to wipe clean.

Any issue with lens caps or hoods if used on Tamron 10-24 or Canon 100-400?
Asked by: Christina
No, the B+W 77mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter threads directly in front of the lens and does not interfere with the original lens hood for both lenses. If you own a thread in the lens hood for these lenses you can attach them on top of the filter.
