Panasonic TC-P46X3 overview

  • 1Description

Energy Guide There's no denying it. The Panasonic TC-P46X3 46" Class VIERA X3 Series 720p Plasma TV is a big television set. This is the one you want for your living room, family room or even a modest home theater. Yet despite its huge screen it weighs less than 55 pounds without its stand and with the right optional equipment (not to mention expertise) you can actually hang it on your wall.

Pair your TC-P46X3 with a DVD or Blu-ray player that supports 24p playback and you'll watch movies at exactly the frame rate at which they were shot without "jaggies" or "judder". In addition to TV, DVDs and Blu-ray discs you can insert a thumb drive into its slot on the TV to view individual JPEG images, JPEG slideshows with music and home movies shot in the AVCHD format. You can also use one of the USB ports to plug in a USB wireless LAN adapter (sold separately). The set is already Internet-ready with its built-in RJ45 jack you can plug directly into your broadband modem or via a router. Panasonic calls it Viera Cast. You'll call it amazing. Imagine viewing YouTube and Picasa Web Albums on your TV with no PC or external boxes required. The built-in Web menu updates itself automatically as new content becomes available.

In the past, plasma sets were known as energy gulpers. No more. Your TC-P46X3 uses only about half the energy similar sets used just a few years ago. It is even mercury and lead free. With all the latest high technology Panasonic hasn't forgotten about those who are hard of hearing. This set can display closed captioning from sources that provide it; and CC can also come in handy when you're watching in a noisy environment.

600Hz Sub-field Drive
600Hz technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into dots. And each frame is practically displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects
VIERA Image Viewer
Equipped with an SD card slot, VIERA makes it easy to view full-HD photos and motion images that you shot yourself. Simply insert the SD memory card into the slot, and you're ready to view your photos and full-HD videos on the big screen. You can make your slide shows even more impressive by adding background music and attractive frames. With VIERA's big screen and superb image quality, family and friends will love sharing your memories
Simply press the VIERA Tools button on the remote control to directly access a variety of Internet services. Enjoy online music and movies with ease
DLNA / Wi-Fi Ready
Connect a DLNA-compatible VIERA and DLNA-compatible AV equipment to your home network, and you can watch movies, listen to music, and view photos from any room in the house. VIERA's Wi-Fi capability gives you even more layout flexibility
Environment-Friendly Panel
Panasonic is committed to making their products more friendly to the environment. In line with this commitment, all VIERA plasma display panels are free of both lead and mercury. This reduces impact on the environment years down the road when the TV is recycled or retired from use
Long Panel Life, Up to 100,000 Hours
One important way consumers can protect the environment is by choosing high-quality products and taking care of them so they last for a long time. A high-quality VIERA HDTV can help. Thanks to a newly designed phosphor process and rear panel process, the plasma panels last for up to 100,000 hours before the brightness decreases by half. That's more than 30 years of viewing 8 hours a day
The VIERA Tools user interface makes it easy to access and understand key functions. Simply press a function button, and an explanation appears on the screen. Keep the button pressed to activate the function immediately
