A supersonic actuator delivers fast, silent and precise auto focusing, and with full-time manual focus in AF mode, you'll always have sharp focus exactly where you want it.

Perfect Pictures at Your Fingertips

This i-Function lens is perfect for novices and experts alike. If you're a beginner, shoot confidently like a pro with Lens Priority Mode. This allows your camera to instantly recognize the type of lens you've attached. Now, it will serve up optimal scene modes with i-Scene, while i-Setting optimizes all the settings for the perfect shot. If you're already a pro, you can cycle through and adjust shutter speed, aperture, ISO and more - all without taking your fingers off the lens, and your eyes off the shot - simply by pressing the i-Function button and turning the value ring to the desired settings.

Supersonic and Super Quiet

Here's a lens ready for its close-up: the Samsung 60mm macro lens. It comes equipped with a supersonic actuator for fast, silent and precise auto focusing - perfect for the amateur entomologist looking to capture an amazing image of a fluttering butterfly. And thanks to its internal focusing system, the lens barrel remains fixed. So you can get right up close to your tiny little subjects without startling them and capture stunning details that can't be seen with the naked eye.

Expert Focus on Amazing Details

The lens autofocus (AF) mechanism sets you up for the perfect shot every time, but sometimes, it's just not the perfect shot you wanted. The Samsung 60mm macro lens allows full-time manual focus in AF mode so you can quickly fine-tune your shot without having to switch modes. This gives you instant and total control over what to focus on and what to blur out in your macro shots.

Optical Image Stabilizer for Clear, Sharp Images

Create beautiful images that move you, even if you jostle the camera. The 60mm macro lens comes equipped with lens-shift optical image-stabilizing technology. Samsung's optical image stabilizer uses tiny lens-shifts to cancel out motion blur, even in low exposure shots. And since the image is being stabilized externally in the lens, what you see through the viewfinder - and on the display - is perfectly clear.

Samsung 60mm Reviews

Great quality, sharp photos but slow autofocus

I use this as a macro and portrait lens. It's one of the larger, heavier Samsung NX lenses. I don't own the S series lenses. But, compared to the other primes and zoom lenses, this one has some of the best quality pics (30 mm rivals it). It's a good, solid macro and portrait lens. I use it to take a variety of photos. The draw back is the slow, cumbersome autofocus, especially in low light. It hunts and doesn't focus quickly. Although it is touted as a fast, lowlight 2.8 lens, it doesn't help that the autofocus is lacking. I haven't used manual focus much. Nonetheless, the sharpness is excellent and the bokeh and overall quality is amazing for the price. This lens is a 4.5 start overall, and 5 in good lighting.

Extremely sharp lens on Samsung NX1 camera

I enjoy macro photography, so the 60mm f/2.8 lens was a natural choice for my new Samsung NX1 camera. From its very first image of a bumble bee on a Dahlia with precise details in both the bee's wings and eyes, I was confident its purchase was the right choice. The clarity of the lens was also well matched by its color response together with the NX1 sensor. To get these results required an aperture of f/14 for enough depth of field. At ISO 100, this required a slow shutter speed of 1/50th second even in very bright light, so it was necessary to wait for the bee to stop moving for a second before pressing the shutter button. As with all lenses, the best results come from using the best technique. So why not 5 stars? The lens is noisy, either from the IS system or the autofocus (AF) system or both. It sounds like the cooing of a dove when in use. This limits its usefulness for creating macro videos without extra audio work in post. In addition, Samsung chose to set its focus limiter to favor longer focus distances and shut out macro focus. I would think the limiter should favor macro distances from minimum focus to 1 foot (.3 m), the primary distance the lens was designed for. This would prevent the lens AF system from searching all the way out to infinity for macro work in less than ideal light, which it does too often. The AF system otherwise, as well as the IS, are effective. I had read before buying that the AF system was very slow, but this is only in the macro mode, again usually only in less than ideal light. One should also keep in mind that at the razor thin depths of field at macro levels, final best focus is usually not obtained by the AF system. The best technique after AF is to move the whole camera back or forth slightly to fine tune the clarity of the subject. The serious macro photographer always also buys a decent set of macro rails for this purpose. In summary, this is an excellent lens for delivering great clarity for macro results. As a bonus, one also gets a very well performing short telephoto/portrait lens. Despite a couple drawbacks that may not bother many people, I consider it a good value in its price range.

Great Lens for a Great Camera

As I have only just recently acquired both the NX1 camera and this lens, I can only give initial impressions and those are that both are superior. As with all of the best Samsung lenses, they are heavy, but worth it.

Great lens. Excellent macro detail and also very useful as a portrait lens. Very pleased. I used to shoot with Olympus and loved their 60mm macro. This lens easily matches that one in every way and perhaps a little better. Sample photos attached.

Love It... One Issue

I've taken some pretty amazing photos with this lens and my NX30 as well as my NX500. My only issue is that they did not have the switch to go from Auto Focus to Manual Focus. Instead it is Full and Limit. So it just takes some getting use to with the focusing quirks.

If you own an NX series camera, you need this lens. This lens consistently turns out great images for me both in macro work and general purpose shooting. Nice creamy out-of-focus areas and bokeh. The only down side is that the lens hood cannot fit over the lens for storage. Well worth the money.

Beautiful lens on the Samsung NX1, particularly for video. Some focus hunting, but the reward is a pristine image. Macro's impressive.

Finding a focus point can be a challenge under low light, but when you get the subject, this lens will deliver nice quality images. With f2.8 aperture, you'll get very shallow debt of field, which can be utilized in portrait type images as well. All together I like this lens.

question

Greetings,It's been years since I did any photography (Canon A1 for perspective on time) I guess I don't understand how a Macro lens can be used for portraits as some people have suggested. To me Macro lenses are just that, for extreme close ups like flowers, plants, insects, etc. How well can this function for close ups and secondarily for portraits? Thanks!Michael

Hello I enjoy very much this quality lens. True, the Macro is for close up frames ( Full focus as short as 19 cm.) but the 60 mm lens is also excellent for portraits. The issue is to put Limit and focus on face at the proper distance (something like a half mater). Be well, make experiments, don't forget to exploit the depth of field... Paolo
