The AE2500 Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter from Linksys employs wireless-N technology for top performance and range and offers wireless transfer speeds of up to 300 megabits per second. It also features superior range with multiple (MIMO) antennas. "N" wireless networking allows for transfer rates that are many times faster than that of 802.11a/g devices, making it an ideal solution for performance intensive networks where slower speeds are insufficient. Additionally, the device can operate on either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band, allowing you to use this device in environments where wireless traffic is congested.

    AE2500 Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient shape & small size. I was surprised to see the convenient slim body with rounded corners and relatively small size. I am comparing to the Linksys AE1000 and Asus USB-N53 which I also own. I didn't put it through any distance nor speed test, but it performed well in normal use. I did not use the CDROM nor setup software. I just downloaded the Driver from Linksys' website and it worked well on my WinXP machine. It was easy to switch between the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. I was using it in my office to access big files on our office file-server, which means that I was using it at much higher speed than most users who only use it to connect to the Internet (no specific measurements).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great recommendation--Thanks Bought a new desktop computer without wireless.... Went to B&H and they recommended the Cisco and I got it the next day. I am very please and happy and am still arguing with Dell about a refund!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very reliable item. I've just installed it on a new laptop, and the sync with Cisco router was a breeze. No problems that I have encountered so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, fast set up and so reliable. I purchased the Linksys wireless adapter to replace another product (let's just say it starts with an N and ends with an R). This other product worked for a week, conked out. After returning 3 more defective products, I ate the cost and bought the Linksys. What a difference! It set up in a few minutes, worked immediately and has not let me down yet. If you want a reliable product, buy this one, you will not be sorry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Great little adapter which is easy to get running and hasn't had any issues so far. The only warning I have is that it gets pretty hot pretty fast, so I would just advise keeping an eye on it if you're using it for extended periods of time, and I wouldn't use it for really demanding internet functions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy I have an older Dell XPS series with Windows 10 on it. The Belkin wireless unit I had used for years quit working when I upgraded the operating system (along with the wireless keyboard and mouse.. but that's a long story). I just moved temporarily into an apartment while I look for a new house and didn't want a LAN cable draped across the room to the router so I decided to try this wireless adapter. Plugged it in, connected to the router and working in minutes. No muss, no fuss. My only complaint is the huge size. I put it into the back of my Dell since there are only 2 USB ports on the front. It now sticks out of the cabinet 2 inches so I can't close the desk drawer and I'm afraid that the smallest mistake will smash the device and break it off. No idea why it has to be this big. I have much smaller ones for my laptops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I bought this for a Windows 7 system. It installed quickly with the enclosed Disc. I am getting max bars (full strength signal) from our modem 40 feet away and one floor down, even with this device plugged in behind the computer pointing away from the direction of the modem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Seems to work well once I got it to work. Out of the box it did not set up like the instruction said. I spent well over an hour on the phone with a technician getting it to work. I purchased it as my old Linksys router was supposedly not working right per our ISP, and got another Linksys thinking it would be just turn it on and go. I will say that the Tech support was good. I have no experience using anything other than a Linksys so I don't have anything to compare it to. Also my old Linksys router is still working and it turns out my ISP tech was wrong so I switched ISP's.
