Twelve South 12-1101 overview

  • 1Description

The MagicWand from TwelveSouth connects your Apple Magic Trackpad to your Apple wireless keyboard to create a one-piece input device. It can be paired with your iMac, MacBook and Apple home theater setup.

MagicWand helps you make the most of finger tapping, swiping technology by partnering your keyboard with the trackpad. Everyday tasks like editing and renaming family pictures in iPhoto no longer require a reach across your desk. With MagicWand, the only thing to pick up and position while using a Mac are your hands.

Browse the internet and stream videos and movies from online sites like Hulu and YouTube on the one-piece keyboard and Trackpad. An H-beam keeps the keyboard in-line with the trackpad so you can use your MagicWand kit on any surface, including your lap or the armrest on the recliner.

When you set up your MagicWand, you can position the Trackpad opposite your mousing hand - and use the mouse and trackpad at the same time. Swipe, pinch, and gesture on the Trackpad. Use the mouse for more precise actions like drawing and painting.

MagicWand is easy to set up and you can position the trackpad on either side of your keyboard to accommodate both left and right-handed users. Now you can type, click, scroll and swipe, while integrated rubber feet keep your keyboard in place.

Home Theater Ready
If you have an Apple home theater setup, you can use your MagicWand kit on your lap to control what you see on your screen.
Gesture Ready
MagicWand makes it easy to use your Magic Trackpad for multi-touch gestures, like swiping, pinching and tapping.
Two Hand Control
Use your Magic Trackpad with one hand and your mouse with the other for more control of what's on your screen.
Special H-Beam
The H-beam between Trackpad and the keyboard enables you to use MagicWand on a desk or your lap.
Soft Rubber Feet
MagicWand has soft, built-in foot pads to keep your keyboard from sliding around your desk and to keep it free of marks.
Easy Setup
Simply snap your keyboard into one end of MagicWand and your Trackpad into the other and you are ready to work.
Left or Right Placement
You can place your Trackpad on either end of MagicWand, making it ideal for right and left handed users.
Works exclusively with Apple Magic Trackpad and Apple Wireless Keyboard (sold separately).

MagicWand is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic device I am thrilled with this device. I love the Apple Wireless keyboard and the Magic Trackpad (I can't stand mice). However before the magic wand they were all over my desk and the movement of each device was both distracting and detracted from my workflow. The Magic Wand keeps the devices together into an integrated, single unit that is exceedingly strong and seamless (they look like a single product). I have encountered zero issues with any wobble, it looks like a stock Apple product (form fitting); and very attractive. I cannot tell that it is not aluminum (it is plastic) and this may actually assist with how securely it fits. This is a very niche product however if you utilize both the wireless keyboard and magic trackpad it is an obligatory purchase that you will love as I do.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with wired (UBS) keyboard. I didn't see anything that stated it wouldn't work with the full size wired (USB) Mac keyboard, may have missed it somewhere, and unfortunately found out too late that it won't work. Also would have to say that it would probably work well with the wireless keyboard but seems very pricey for an ounce or so of shiney plastic. A little creative work with some 1/2 thin wall pvc pipe, painted silver, will save you 25 bucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Piece This is a great product. It securely holds your wireless keyboard and track pad together to form one solid component. It may be a bit pricey for what it is but to me its well worth the money. Goes together easily and it DOES make a solid unit out of the keyboard and track pad. I'm glad I bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This is great keyboard extender. I use the wand to connect an apple bluetooth keyboard and trackpad to make one device. I am lefty, so it is great that the wand allows me to configure the trackpad on the side that works best for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Product snaps into place like a breeze. Surprised Apple does not deliver this with all trackpads. B&H ships so fast and is always hassle free! Great product, and great service :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plastic but perfect It's made of plastic, but it's still a very ingenious idea. Surprised Apple didn't come up with this.
