58mm Adapter Tube for Nikon COOLPIX P7000 / P7100 Digital Cameras is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, but doesn't work w/ zoom I bought this in order to fit filters on my coolpix p7000. The adapter snaps perfectly onto the camera and my filters screw in beautifully. The only problem is that the coolpix has some sort of automatic zoom disable that triggers when the lens ring is removed. Even with the adapter snapped into place, the camera somehow still knows its lens ring has been removed and the zoom won't work. This adapter is great, as long as you don't expect to use the zoom in conjunction with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great quality at a low price I use it on a Nikon P7100 with both Digital Concepts 2.2x telephoto and with a Zeikos .45x wide angle lens. You should use only the first half of the tube with wide angle. Only complaint is that you need to zoom the camera just a little when using the wide angle lens, or you get image distortion. But you can still get about 80% of the use of the wide angle lens. With a Digital Concepts 2.2 Telephoto, you use both halves of the adapter to avoid internal collision of the zoom lens with the telephoto part. You would expect it to vignette at anything less than about 2.5x zoom, and it does, but since the P7100 zooms natively to 7.1x, you don't need the telephoto attachment below that anyway. Good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well coupled w/ Lensmate Part B This adapeter is 2 piece, and you have to remove the front piece to avoid vignetting at wide angle. Of course with a filter, you can't then zoom or you will hit the filter. My solution: Take the bottom piece with the bayonet & 58mm thread, and attach a Lensmate Part B 72mm filter holder(made for Canon G's). Works great over whole zoom range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value I combined the first half of this adapter with a Lensmate G12/G11/G10 Adapter - Part B ( the 72mm filter holder) so that I could use a 72mm Circular Polarizer on my Nikon Coolpix P7100. The result works great. Product is inexpensive and well made. Ordering was very easy and delivery was fast. The price was very reasonable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like Mary Poppins I use the tube in combination with my Hoya R72 for infrared photography. I never thought I'd be able to get *handheld* infrared shots, but now I can! The tube is long enough for the full zoom. It is made of quality metal and fits the P7000 perfectly. I can't think of any negatives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from answers my needs My camera works fine with this tube attached. It divides into two sections to avoid vignetting with shorter focal lengths, therefore you need to change the tube arrangement between shooting wide and longer focal lengths.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicely designed and well-made This adapter separates into two sections. The short section is excellent as a mount for a ring light and protects the lens while carrying the camera, much as a lens hood would. Adding the second section allows mounting a UV or circular polarizer. The only down side is that the barrel blocks the lower right corner of the optical viewfinder, but this is typical of lens extensions on a rangefinder-styled camera.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fits The adapter tube fits the P7000 perfectly. It does partially obstruct the viewfinder. If you compose using the LCD, it works fine. If you add the tulip lens hood, the viewfinder is nearly totally obstructed. The LCD will be the only way to compose. The tube is metal and well built. It should protect the lens to some degree.
