    Metz 36 AF-5 reviews

mecablitz 36 AF-5 digital Flash for Nikon Cameras is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't settle for less than Metz! So I called the superstore about getting a lower quality flash because of money and the usage (back yard portraits, indoor family, etc.) and the response was...does Metz have anything in your price range. Thank you very much for the advice. This flash is very good and useful. I used it the first day I received it, outside, with great results. Then, later that night in a poorly lit room with my Nikon 50mm f1.4g and bam. Amazing results. I didn't think I could be amazed anymore by my 50mm 1.4, but with this flash at Great depth and clarity. I'm sold. I will be getting a 50 series Metz for paid work very soon. Seriously, get this over every other lens below $130...including Nikon. I have two other manual flashes from China, which I thought were amazing until I fired this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use external flash! The mecablitz 36AF-5 digital flash is a vary basic flash. Simply connect it to your hot shoe and lock it down. Power it on and your camera does the rest. I use it a Nikon D60 and 35mm DX, 18-55mm DX, and my 55-200mm DX. My indoor images are tack sharp with all of these lenses when used with a diffuser. *Remove the diffuser when using 55-200mm DX.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Bright Spot in Life I purchased the 35AF-5 for my wife to use with her aging D50 a little unsure if it would actually work with a unit 4 years old even though it indicated TTL. I was happily impressed that it worked completely. Adjustments are made to make a stronger flash by simply pulling the head out in preset increments from 28mm - 85 mm. My assumption is that the flash will work up to 36 feet adequately though I have not tested it to that exact point. It works nicely with 4 rechargeable AA batteries. For the price I am well pleased with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product Works great with my Nikon D40. I planned on buying the Nikon SB400 but instead after reading some reviews and talking with flash specialist decided to purchase the Metz 36AF-5 because it is more powerfull comparable to a Nikon SB600. The price is the same as the SB400 and $100 less than the SB600. What I don't like about this product is the battery cover. Hard to open and close, I don't want to put much pressure on it, I am thinking it my break. Other than that it works great for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the price I wanted a basic flash and so compared the Nikon SB-400 and the Metz 36. Both are same price. I picked the Metz because it has a zoom head. The battery life is also good because it uses 4 batteries. It also worked good as a slave flash. I have not yet tested it outdoor so can't comment, but for indoor I definitely recommend this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I bought this product for a photojournalism class that I am taking. So far, this flash has been great. I have used it in several different situations, daylight, mid-day, dusk, and night. Great in all aspects so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay way from it! I'm a pro. shooting weddings every single weekend. I bought this because I wanted a second flash for my assistants. After 3 weddings it simply died. It doesn't fire, but it charges up. It DOESN'T have a power control, so it fires at full power, which is a pain in the eyes. In general, don't buy it.
