question
Will it work with the flash mounted on a Pocket Wizard FlexTT5 radio trigger?
TT5 is a little big,so you can not put the flash inside, you will need TTL cord connect two of them.

question
Is the flash mounted outside the Octa as in the easybox softbox 24 or is a trigger required to fire the flash?
If you use IR type triggering, where line of sight is mandatory, then you might have issues. If you use RF, where having your triggering device not in the line of sight with your camera's transmitting device, then it will not matter if the trigger is inside the box or outside the box. It is radio frequency that controls it & line of sight issues don't exist. You can run a cable that will hook up to the flash/triggering unit to get the flash to fire. It just depends on the type you have. It sounds like you are concerned with the flash being on the inside of the softbox which would indicate that you have a IR type of trigger. In this case, you may have to use a cable or try to get the devices that are being used in sight of each other.
