Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just needed 1 more to mic up the Bride I use these recorders to film weddings and special events. It's a perfect back-up mic for speeches and ceremonies. It works well with my Tram TR50's. I have 3 of these recorders. One each for the officiant, bride and groom. I like how portable it is to carry around. The only thing I dislike is having to reset the date / time for every event since I always disconnect the batteries when storing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Up close and omni work well This is a very handy and simple to use mic. It fits in my XLR camera case with the camera in there, so I didn't even have to buy an addition case. However, I was hoping to use it as the mic for my video shoots. It sounded great on close up shots, but when I was 5+ feet from the subject, their dialogue became too mixed with the rest of the room noise. It's good for picking up all the sound in the room, but when I wanted focused pick up I couldn't get it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The DR-07 mkll perfect for musicians I record my music {Guitar} in my home studio, I find that when I record the guitar through an inter-face of some sort {line 6 HD500, and others} my guitar tone missed something, Squeals, pinch harmonics, and even some full note bends just didn't sound as good as when I played them through my Amp... Problem solved - The Dr-07 allows me to record the guitar Live and the tone is perfect! I place it 12-16 away from the speaker {set the level so it doesn't distort}...I then upload it in to my computer, and add the guitar track to my pre-recorded tracks {Drums, bass, vocals, what-have-you} and it blends beautifully... Of course, you can't have mom vacuuming in the next room while you record, lol ... and the other Great feature is, it's so easy and quick to use, when inspiration pops in your head {Guitar riff, melody, lyrics, just hit record and it's saved forever!... I love this unit, It's one of the most important pieces of equipment in my studio (home studio) and you can't beat the price, --- Super reliable, long battery life {but can't hurt to get the AC adapter, got mine here from B&H, remember you'r not only Recording with the batts, but also uploading to your computer. ... Rock on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets The Job Done I was recently asked to take over the job of recording the speakers that present at my AA home group. I have been recording the speakers with our old equipment and then running them through an audio editing program to try and clean them up before burning them to a disc. Since I purchased this product I have had to do very little with the audio program. The quality of the recordings is unbelievable. It is super simple to use and was a great deal. I bought this product without ever having any experience using this type of device and have already made 4 recordings with ease. This is going to be a great addition to our group since we use the recordings that we make to run a lending audio library of AA speakers. I was a little worried at first if it would work well with my MacBook but I haven't had any glitches yet. I have also been asked to attend other speaker meetings in the area and do some recordings for their groups as well. This has become a very enjoyable hobby for me now. Thank you for making such a great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product for the Price! I own the Tascam HD-P2 so I'm accostumed to quality audio recording. When I powered up the DR-07 I wasn't sure what to expect but to my surprise, it shinned! Audio quality is great. I like the control features as well. If you are looking for a good portable recorder for an affordable price...this is the one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DR-07mkII -- A nice surprise I use this in the field for interviews, also for widee area audio coverage of events. Have a very expensive digital audio recorder - don't need to use it as much - and the DK-07mkII with a lav is super quick to set up. Wish the limiter went to 260.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Sound I wanted something to record the band's music at church and be able to record it in MP3 format. I found this item trough a google search. I found out Wav was better to record in than MP3. A friend that works the sound board at church heard mine and bought two for his wife and daughter from BH Photo as well. A nephew of mine is going to buy one after listening to mine. It is better than I had hoped for. Easy to use after reading directions. Would buy again in a heart beat.

    question

Can it be used as a USB microphone?
    Asked by: Joshua H.
I bought the Tascam recorder for my son to use in video production. He explained that recorded sound that is captured is then transferred using the usb port. Think of it more as a recorder than a mic. For a usb mic he highly recommends the Blue Snowball.

    question

Can SDXC cards be used with this recorder? Can files be divided or combined? Does the USB jack power the recorder so the batteries don't have to be used? Is there a recharge circuit to recharge the batteries when the USB jack is used?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Yes but the files are divided.
