Fujifilm LH-X100 overview

  • 1Description

The silver Fujifilm LH-100 Lens Hood and Adapter Ring is specifically designed for the 23mm lens of the Fujifilm X100 and X100S cameras and helps to minimize lens flare by deflecting stray light from entering lens. The hood also provides additional protection to the camera and lens from accidental impact, bumps, and scratching.

Included with the lens hood is the silver AR-X100 Adapter Ring, which facilitates the attachment of the lens hood to the lens.

    Fujifilm LH-X100 reviews

LH-100 Lens Hood and Adapter Ring for X100/X100S (Silver) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 71.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works nicely with filters attached I bought this to use on my new Fujifilm X100S with its 23mm non-removable lens. Installation of the adapter ring is easy, and you need this if you want to use 49mm filters on this lens. I am including a photo of this hood assembly installed on my X100S, while the camera is also wearing two stacked 49mm filters and an after-market snap-on lens cap. Everything fits nicely. The hood also provides another measure of lens protection against accidental trauma. Be aware, if you also use the Fujifilm leather carrying case, this hood and most filters must be removed to close the full case. The top case's front is just too shallow in depth to wear over the lens hood.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, not great value This is a great lens hood for your x100. It is very effective as a hood, does not interfere with the viewfinder much, and like all fuji x-series products it just oozes quality. I have two gripes with this. First, with the adapter ring installed, the lens cap does not fit snugly like before, to the point where I think I would lose it if carrying the camera that way. I usually keep the lens hood attached to the ring and screw both on at the same time. Second, I just wish that it cost a bit less. I still bought it at full price and have no regrets, but for what amounts to a lens hood and filter adapter, I think it should be at a lower price point.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works for the Purpose I bought this for the adapter ring so I could attach a filter to the X100 to act as a protection for the lens and to avoid using the stock lens cap that came with the camera. I have a leather case, which works with the adapter ring and the B&W filter I bought in place. The hood I probably will not use because I cant use the case with the hood on the camera. I did not see the adapter ring for sale without the hood (perhaps I missed the item when I was shopping). As others have noted on line, it is a little tricky unscrewing the ring that came with the camera so you can attach the adapter ring. The quality is fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pricey, but worth the money. I purchased this original Fujifilm LH-X100 with Adapter Ring for my Fujifilm Finepix X100 Camera.First, I purchased the much less expensive knock-off version from JJC to try and although the build was decent and everything fit on the X100, the alignment of the hood was off. I'm not sure if it was the adapter ring or the hood itself or a combination of both, but with the adapter ring mounted and the hood attached to the adapter ring, there are 3 vents in the hood which allow you to see through the hood so it does not obscure the view when viewing through the OVF. Unfortunately, the lens hood vents did not line up quite right so the few area which are not vented is rotated into field of view, having less opening to view through hood, and that kind of defeats the purpose of having the vents in the hood if they still not allow you to see more when hood is attached. ALSO, the hood had some slight gap or slack in it when mounted so that made it feel and look a bit cheap, also... So, I returned the JJC version.I decided I had to go with original Fujifilm LH-X100 lens hood and adapter to ensure the perfect fit and alignment and pay the premium for it. Sure enough, the original Fujifilm LH-X100 lens hood + adapter worked and aligned perfectly and I could see through my OVF and through the vents of the hood when mounted. No wiggle or slack also, so it was a perfect mate.I did not want to pay about $ just for a lens hood, but I really love my X100 and wanted to be sure all the parts fit and worked as they should and investing in the original parts, when possible, usually will ensure quality parts and functionality as designed.I would have given this 5 stars, but still the $ price tag or so is still pretty steep for just a lens hood and adapter piece, imho.. 1 star deducted for a tad high price tag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lens hood Works but I don't really use that much haven't had flare problem, plus it blocks viewfinder somewhat and also the flash if needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top of the Line OEM Lens Hood There are cheaper alternatives out there, but this Fuji LH-100 lens hood and adapter ring are the same top quality as the camera. It matches perfectly and is extremely well made. This allows you to add a UV filter along with a protective hood and sunshade. I use it on my Fuji x100T. In my opinion, this is a must accessory and the Fuji brand hood is outstanding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Construction Just to let it be clear to everyone, this hood/adapter ring will replace the lens cover and adapter ring that comes with the camera. It's easy enough to remove the adapter ring and put in the new adapter ring that allows for the hood to be put on and it looks great. I bought the black hood/adapter to go with the black camera body (Fujifilm X100T) because I wanted to make the camera as inconspicuous as possible. One BIG complaint I do have is that the hood and adapter can be twisted off way too easily. I wish the hood would click onto the adapter more securely. If you're not careful or it's moving around in your bag, the hood can come undone from the adapter. The silver version of this hood/adapter was cheaper at the time of purchase but I went and spent a bit more for the black metal. I honestly am torn between recommending this and suggesting getting a 3rd party hood/adapter for 1/2 the price but being a first-time Fujifilm user, I thought I'd stay safe and stick with Fuji accessories. But I will recommend a hood as it offers better protection to the lens (which is fixed onto the body). Pros: - Nice design - Solid, all-metal construction - Easy installation - Offers better protection to the lens than having nothing Cons: - Not all that great for lens flare - Makes the camera bulkier (obviously) - Makes the lens cap unusable - Pretty expensive - Lens hood can be twisted off too easily

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hummmm They are great but. they fall once and they are pretty much done and I would know as I purchased 3 of this so far (two are dead), granted they sort of pay for themselves after a few uses but if you can just wait and save up to get a Lump Pro, Nikon SB26 or something similar as that would take a beating and keep on working forever, but I know what you are thinking: I'll just buy two of this and be very very careful until. well you know something always happens (LIFE) you have an expensive camera, lenses, modifiers, ppl talking to you, subjects, etc, etc, so trust me the day will come when they will fall and unless you have another few options in your bag your photoshoot its pretty much done so this is one of those things where quality will pay for it self over time
