Celestron 52309 overview

  • 1Description

The 80mm Guidescope Package from Celestron is a complete package containing two 125millimeter rings along with the guidescope. This scope is compatible with Celestron's NexGuide Autoguider. It includes an extension tube to assist in reaching focus without a diagonal. An M42 thread on the extension tube allows an easy sliding of the NexGuide autoguider barrel into the extension tube. There is a tension screw on the focuser to minimize the "play" when focusing.

    Celestron 52309 reviews

80mm Guidescope Package is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Celestron 80mm guidescope Big and heavy. Comes equipped with Losmandy dovetail clamps only and requires work to mount on anything else. Dew shield is not removable and makes lens cleaning difficult. Found nothing to store it in for travel unless the scope rings are removed. Otherwise works as advertised. Found using a diagonal instead of the included extension tube makes it much easier to find a guidestar and check focus with an eyepiece installed, and much easier to read the NexGuide screen especially on high altitude objects. Diagonal OR extension is required to get the Nexguide in focus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Deal Typical of Celestron's quality, this scope a is very good deal for the money. The oversized mounting rings provide very stable support and allow plenty of scope position latitude for selecting slightly off-axis guide stars. Optics are good for stand alone use as well. The focus mechanism is well made and very smooth. The only thing missing is a focus lock or clutch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good scope I use this scope as a guide scope with my Celestron 9.25 HD. Can't beat it for the price. Rings and extension tube included. Rings are of good quality, no worry of them breaking. My only complaint is its a little heavy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice One ! This is a good 80mm guiding scope with his FD of 600mm. A light one and a good focuser too, compatible with my Synguider autoguider...
