  • 1Description

The Waterproof SLR Camera Case from Aquapac is submersible up to 15'  and designed to fit most consumer DSLRs with standard lenses up to 4" (10.2cm). Compatible cameras include virtually all models which use an APS/DX sensor and some smaller full-frame models. The tough thermoplastic polyurethane casing with welded seams also protects your gear from dust, dirt, and sand.

The casing contains a permanently attached tough acrylic lens that will work even underwater. Even if you aren't swimming but drop the case in water, it will float.

The Aquaclip sealing mechanism is easy to use and opens and closes the bag via dual twist levers. Aquapac has included five desiccant sachets that will help absorb moisture. Also included is a convenient shoulder strap for easy carrying and extra security. Suitable for any activity near or on the water, this case will permit you to record family memories that you will cherish for decades.

Guaranteed waterproof to 15' in compliance with IPX8 standard. The equipment is suitable for continuous immersion in water for at least 30 min

    Aquapac AQUA-458 reviews

Waterproof SLR Camera Case (Cool Gray) is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overpriced We used this product for a trip beach trip that we took recently. The product is as advertised, but looking back on it, we would not repeat this purchased. It was more trouble to put the camera in and out of the bag, and I was constantly worried about it not sealing up properly, even though we never had an issue. If you are definitely going to be submerging your camera, it maybe worth getting this product, but if you are getting it to simply try and protect your gear from accidental damage, I would not worry about it. In the end we just made sure we were extra careful and after 1 day of using the waterproof bag, decided it was not worth the extra effort. Taking pictures also more awkward which is also factored into this decision.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I used this camera bag to shoot scuba divers at a hot spring and it worked well. I was free diving down to about 15' with this bag and a GH4. It's hard to focus through the bag, so you pretty much have to set your focus and shoot (for video). The shots came out well and the underwater stuff looked good, when in focus.Day two, I shot in an olympic pool and after about half an hour in the water, I noticed water drops in the bag. It wasn't much, and luckily I was shooting with a 5D. Neither the camera nor the lens were damaged. However, only two uses of this bag seems like a bad deal... I realize it's only$, so the take away is rent a decent housing or pony up the money for one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Canon 7D While certainly waterproof enough for how I was using it (blocking splash from passing kiteboarders), the casing was clumsy and difficult to handle. It took serious effort to get the 7D into the case and the lens front element had to be directly against the front element of the case in order to not see the case in the shot. Otherwise, the front element of the case is clear and does not distort the image. From the focus side of things, manual focus is out of the question, as well as zoom. Also, the clear plastic window that supposedly allows you to see the back LCD makes for poor focusing ability in Live view and quite clearly puts the viewfinder out of commission. I gave it two stars not because it isn't a good case for waterproofing...to some extent (I wouldn't trust it in surf or dunking it into water), but instead because it was so clumsy to use that I ended up never using it and instead opting to use my rain cover. I will not use it again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Eh. Good, but not great. Very difficult to put your camera in the bag. Takes a while to fit it properly. Does not work well with a 24-70mm canon lens. Not much access to controls, hard to change them. Bag gives you a blurry view into the viewfinder, so very difficult to see if subject is focused. Good for the price I guess, but I would spend just a little more for a bag that gives more room and a clearer bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Water Tight Used in a lake/wakeboard setting. Did not leak and it floats if you leave enough air in it before you seal it. There was some condensation and having air in the bag made if somewhat difficult to operate

Rated 4 out of 5 by from only for waterproofing Very hard to use for underwater photography because it flows and requires some wheights to keep camera underwater. It is ok for outdoor use in wet environment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Interesting idea, cheap for a reason. no cover for lens portion - easily scratched. Not very durable

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price Great tool to create underwater shots with your DSLR or similar seized video camera. The housing makes a solid impression and most important of all: It keeps the inside watertight and protects your valuable equipment.
