Polaroid PLBR36 reviews

Dual Folding Flash Bracket For SLR Cameras is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best flash bracket I have ever found I use the bracket to control shadows and prevent red eye. It is well made and easy to use. I did not like the plasic threads on the bottom of the flash shoe. So I bought a Nisha accessory flash shoe from B&H and replaced the one that came with the Polaroid bracket. That works great. The only thing that is negative is the weight, but it sould last forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect but needs better strobe a Great product, good quality, but has poor strobe light adapter which is friction mounted and twists around. I fixed this by purchasing an aluminium adapter WITH a pin then filed the adapter thinner so the bracket would close, then filed the pin thinner to fit into the slot. Now wouldn't trade it for anything!!! Only reccommended for the mechanically minded person willing to modify it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice bracket Seems well made and sturdy. The flash attachment cold shoe seems like a weak spot, but I don't use it anyway. I use my off-camera cord which has a hot shoe. You can't flip the flash arm 180 which somewhat limits the versatility. Tripod mountable. Folds nicely for easy storage and transport. The price is certainly right.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, well built product My reason for buying this bracket was not for the purpose it was built. I film football games for a private school. I use a small, but high quality Sony camcorder (HDR-PJ760)and I use a 5 or my new 7 monitor to help me better see where the ball is, since I am 72 and the small camcorder screen makes it a bit difficult for me to follow the ball sometimes. I attach my camcorder to the bracket and then attach the bracket to one of my tripods - usually the small Sony tripod with the built-in remote control handle. The hot shoe on the Sony camcorder does not seem strong enough to hold a 5 monitor and certainly not strong enough to hold my 7, plus it takes an adapter to even use the shoe. With the bracket, I can attach the monitor to the regular shoe on the top which is centered over my camcorder allowing me to see the action much better and leaving the Sony shoe available for an external microphone if desired. The bracket is a bit taller than I would like but not that bad. If I am shooting other events I would even have room to mount one of my LED lights along with the microphone and monitor. I would have to use my larger, heavy duty Manfrotto tripod to carry that much weight however, but I do have a couple of wired remote controls, either of which would attach easily to the tripod handle. I like the fact that the bracket has two push buttons and folds so that I can put it in my camera's backpack. It's a little heavier than I would like but I am certainly not worried about it coming apart or folding up without me wanting it to. I can even use the bracket with my Manfrotto monopod and a 3-way pan head if desired or if I don't have enough room for a tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Like It I like the way all swivel movement lock instantly in place, no moving around or sloppiness. Very secure. I can position the flash right where I want it for either horizontal or vertical shots. Nice bracket!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Polaroid Folding Flash Bracket Well built, however, does have a bit of wiggle room where the bracket elbows are.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice bracket but sloppy in the hinges It's a pretty descent bracket, feels comfortable and folds up pretty compact. My only complaint is that it doesn't feel tight when extended to its normal position. It was enough to make it feel unstable slightly, like your camera or flash was loose, but it's really just the detent has play. We returned it as we probably won't ever use it anyway.
