Cinevate Inc CICYCL001 Overview

The Cyclops DSLR Viewfinder from Cinevate Inc. is a framing / focusing tool for a DSLR camera. Its sled is designed to allow for nearly limitless rigging options. The viewfinder can be adjusted to accommodate larger cameras and the front and rear hood elements can be interchanged to allow for the trend of larger LCD sizes. The optic / lens itself can be switched from the back of your camera to the front, allowing for versatility in detail and image sharpness, depending upon your subject and your needs.

This viewfinder allows you to view your subject with great focus, even from 3 feet away from the camera! What's more is that with this tool, director and shooter can view images at the same time. The viewfinder does not attach in any way to your LCD; there's no touch fastener, sticky tape or elastic involved.

Precision molded fiber-reinforced composite gives the viewfinder's sled a solid foundation for virtually endless rigging options
Large 72mm optic / lens is made from exotic glass elements that are optically bonded, then fully coated for maximum brightness
Fully adjustable (3 axis) to accommodate even larger cameras, such as Nikon D3s and Canon 1D MkIV
Allows you to achieve critical focus from as far away as 3.0' (0.9 m) from the camera!
You can use both eyes to frame/focus and you won't have to remove eye-glasses
Allows director and shooter to view images at the same time
Optic can be quickly removed and attached to the front of your camera via 72mm threads, creating a +5 power macro with resolution to match even full size HDSLR sensors
Special included riser adjusts Cyclops to optimum height for use with lower LCD screens, such as those on the Canon 7D and T2i
Sled option not recommended on cameras with flip-out LCD screens, like the 60D or GH1
Does not attach to your LCD - no touch fastener, sticky tape or elastics!

question

Any plans of a Cyclops Viewfinder for the new BM 4k cinema camera?
Asked by: ry
No plans have been announced. We would be of the opinion that this unit would probably work with the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K B&H # BL4KPKCAM as it is.

Would you know where to find another 1/4 20-allen screw that connects the cyclops to the camera? I lost mine!
Asked by: Norm D.
Unfortunately, I do not see a Cinevate 1/4 -20 allen screw listed in our inventory or on Cinevate's website. However, it may be possible if you contact them directly, they may be able to send you a replacement screw. question

Early users complained about the Cyclops's hard plastic edge being against the LCD screens of their cameras. Cinevate said it had a soft rubber boot that fits on the end to solve that issue. Is the soft rubber boot now standard issue and/or included in this package?Thank you very much.
Asked by: Richard L.
Hi Richard,I ordered mine about a month ago and love it and it did come with a soft rubber boot or gasket around the edge that protects the screen. I only wish I had ordered it a long time ago, it works so well in the desert sun and not sure how I ever got by without it.Jim

question

Hi you did send an answer to my question but I want to make sure I understand when you say the riser is included. Does the riser consist of the height adjustment peace and the sled that is used to attach the Viewfinder to the camera or do I have to buy the sled separately? I just want to make sure I buy everything I need at one time that way I don't have to order it later if it's not included.ThanksJim
Asked by: Anonymous
The riser consists of the height adjustment piece and the base plate that the height adjustment piece is attached to. Essentially, everything in the product image is what you will receive. If you are asking about the rails that can be used with the Cyclops Viewfinder, this item is not included, but can be purchased separately: http://bhpho.to/1nTTbsj
