Bushnell 260228 overview

  • 1Description

Make an enviable addition to your hunting or outdoor gear with Bushnell's Equinox 2x28 1st Generation Night Vision Monocular. This device features a compact and ergonomic rubberized body design that allows users to have a secure one-handed grip. At the core of the monocular are a 1st generation night vision intensifier tube with a resolution of 36 lp/mm and a 2x optical system with a 28mm objective and wide 21° angle of view. The intensifier tube converts an infrared scene profile to visible imagery and will deliver bright and clear images during clear or partially cloudy nights. On very cloudy nights or in completely dark environments, you can turn on a built-in infrared illuminator, which will improve image visibility, brightness, and detail. For activating the intensifier tube and the IR illuminator, you have a simple control pad with easy-to-reach buttons on the right side. To provide visual feedback about the status of your NVD, the monocular also has two LED indicators: one for power (green) and one for the IR illuminator (red).

To enhance your outdoor experience as much as possible, Bushnell outfitted the device with a lightweight, compact, and ergonomic rubberized housing. It is water-resistant, impact-resistant, and compatible with 1/4"-20 tripods. For mounting additional accessories, like illuminators, cameras, and lasers, the body has a short Picatinny/Weaver rail on the top.

    Bushnell 260228 reviews

Equinox 2x28 1st Generation Night Vision Monocular (Matte Black) is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not too shabby I received this product as a gift from my wife. We had animals in the back yard that were eating the flowers and shrubs and wanted to know what it was. She purchased these from B/H for wha I think is a reasonable amount. It's not too heavy and doesn't feel like a toy. The rubber feel is nice in the hand and it's simple to use. On/Off, IR assist beam on/off. There are two focus knobs. One for the eye, one to focus. It takes one 123 battery which can be a pain to locate and are rather expensive. But so far I'd say I've used it for about 3 hours so far with no diminshment in performance. It has a rail on top, though I'm not sure why. Overall, nice Gen 1 product. Would buy again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from optics are soft I collect generation 1 night vision devices, and was sad to see such poor performance from Bushnell. While no-one should expect $3000 results from a gen 1 instrument, no one should settle for soft clarity. It was like looking through a bright green lolipop. The unit seems sturdy and is ergonomically great, however in my opinion if you cannot identify sharply and quickly in the field, the unit serves little purpose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SHARP I don't know why I've heard that the optics are soft on this model. This has been FAR FROM MY EXPERIENCE. I've owned several Gen 1 and Digital Night vision scopes and One Gen 1 Binocular. This is BY FAR the SHARPEST and CLEAREST Gen1 I've owned! It is NOT the Brightest, as to be expected from such a relatively small lens. However, very nice for the Size and Price.
