Tele Vue Delos 6mm Eyepiece (1.25")
Key Features
  • 6mm Focal Length
  • 72° Apparent Field of View
  • 1.25" Diameter Barrel
  • Anti-Reflective Multi-Coated Optics
Taking design inspiration from the venerable Ethos line but with a narrower field of view to provide users with a long more comfortable eye relief, the Tele Vue Delos 6mm Eyepiece was designed for easy long-duration lunar and planetary observation. Index-matched anti-reflective multi-coatings applied to the glass lenses were engineered specifically to maximize light transmission, which produces sharp, bright, high-contrast, and color-faithful images across the entire spacious 72° apparent field of view. Its adjustable-height rubber eyecup helps to further enhance contrast by preventing stray light from entering the user's peripheral vision, which can interfere with the image seen through the ocular. The eyepiece is offered with a 1.25" diameter barrel for compatibility with a wide variety of filters and accessories, and is parfocal with Tele Vue Group B eyepieces so no refocusing is required when switching between eyepieces within the group.

I never regret my decision to sell all my eyepieces and to replace them by TeleVue eyepieces. Superb optical performance, great manufacturing quality, perfect service by B&H.

Fantastic Eyepiece

I spent a bit over a month researching when deciding on which eyepiece for planetary use I should buy. This eyepiece was far more costly than what I intended to spend, however it was the many good reviews on clarity and quality combined with comfort (the eye relief and field of view) that made me consider going outside my original budget. In the end I'm very happy that I chose this eyepiece. TeleVue's Delos line is living up to all the great reviews they receive. Highly recommend this eyepiece. The only thing to keep in mind is that this eyepiece is pretty heavy, at least heavier that what I expected it to be.

Sharp sharp sharp

Gorgeous eyepiece, super sharp. Was able to resolve epsilon Lyrae at x65 as two tiny airy discs. Yes, the eyepiece is large, and I was cautious of the fact, but after using it few times I don't even think about that anymore (though if you use this on an alt-az mount you may have balancing issues while changing eyepieces).

Worth the price

It's been a long time since I'd bought a new eyepiece for my telescope. I was expecting the wider field of view that was advertised, but not the better clarity and resolution that this eyepiece gave over my old ones. It was worth the price.

On my 20 year old 8 Celestron shows lots of detail on Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn.

Is it good for use on a Celestron 6SE as compared to Explore Scientific 6.7mm , 82deg FOV. Appreciate your feedback. Best regards
Asked by: Rohith
The effective maximum magnification of the 6se is 300x. The 6.7mm would resolve 223x, so it should be compatable.
