Sachtler 0777 overview

  • 1Description

The Sachtler Telescopic Tripod TT 75/2 CF with FSB 8 Fluid Head is a full support system that's specifically designed for shooting video with a high-definition ENG-style camcorder – or perhaps a DSLR camera on an absolutely loaded rig. It's appropriate for payloads between 2.2 and 19.8 lb, so most professional camcorders are well supported, even shoulder-mount ENG models.

Two key features of the FSB 8 fluid head enable the execution of professional-level cinematic camera moves: balance and drag. The Snap & Go sideload mechanism features a very large sliding range of 4.7", and ten steps of counter-balance are selectable, allowing you to quickly achieve precise balance and thus stable operation. Five grades of horizontal and vertical drag (plus zero drag) are also selectable, allowing you to pan and tilt slowly or quickly with the supplied DV 75-type pan bar. The tilt range of the FSB 8 is -75 to 90°.

The fluid head features Sachtler's counterbalance-switch mechanism, plus the company's well-known Speedbalance and Sideload technology. Sideload allows for quick mounting and unmounting of the camcorder, for easy switching between locked-down and handheld shooting.

The FSB 8 head attaches to the three-section Telescopic Tripod TT 75/2 CF via a 75mm bowl attachment, for professional stability and leveling. The tripod features single-tube carbon-fiber legs and magnesium die castings, for an excellent balance of light weight and good stability & load capacity. (On its own, the tripod is able to support loads up to 44 lb.)

By extending the two leg stages via the ergonomically designed, easy-to-operate flip locks, the TT 75/2 tripod reaches a maximum height of 67.3"; with the head attached, that rises to a very tall working height of 73.7". Meanwhile, the entire system weighs less than 10 lb. A padded bag is included.

For use with full-size HD / ENG camcorders, with total payload support up to 19.8lb
Provides professional performance via a 10-step counterbalance as well as three vertical and horizontal grades of drag (+0)
The Snap & Go sideload mechanism boasts an exceptionally large sliding range of 4.7"
The FSB 8 is a component of the SOOM modular construction system
Angle selector allows you to set the carbon fiber legs at precise angles, independently and easily

    Sachtler 0777 reviews

Telescopic Tripod TT 75/2 CF with FSB 8 Fluid Head is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pan Bar/Handle spins I'm a fan of Sachtler, I had my first Sachtler for over twenty years and it was perfect. I bought the FSB 8 for my light camera setup and it works well except for the pan bar and it is so annoying, it will not tighten. It just spins, I'm thinking there must be a part missing. I can get it to work with tape but it gets messy... If anyone has a suggestion please let me know. A person from Sachtler suggested adding another washer but that didn't help.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good tripod, but not worth the pr I am a little dissapointed with this tripod. I bought it to use with my 5D setup and a big lens. The tripode arrived with the illuminating bubble not working. I tried a new battery, but it still didn't work. The tilt also seems to have a little bit of a jerky movement at first. Maybe it just needs to break in, but come on. For $$ it should be top notch right out of the box.I do like all of the adjustments and it ballances out nicely with my camera. I do a lot of hiking in the mountains and you definately start feeling the weight, but it's worth it to have a smooth head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for travel the fsb 8 is much better than the fsb 4. counterbalance is very good and enough for my full gear fs700 and fs7. the tripod also solid enough for our need. but I will switch the fsb 8 to the speed lock normal use. speed lock is much faster than this one but it can't set very low angle and sometime not high enough. The TT 75 cf is same as manfrotto 535. Both are great tripod. very solid, very low and very high. it is very good for travel. if i can only bring one tripod for outport shooting. FSB8 and TT is a must. very light and solid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tripod system Bought this system to replace a more moderately priced tripod that only lasted a couple of years before becoming annoying. I don't think I'll ever look at a cheaper system again. You really do get what you pay for. The legs are top-notch. I've always preferred ones without a spreader. The head, though, is the real star. Putting it on number 2 drag (out of 5) is better than my former head maxed out. There really is no comparison. Do yourself a favor - pay the extra money and get a tripod you'll love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Great legs and head! Professional video producer with 20 years experience. We have purchased mid-range tripods/heads for use with our cameras. Always disappointed in smoothness of head movement and sturdiness of legs. This combo is a winner. We will be buying another set for our other camera. Beefy head is strong enough for Video cameras. Photographers may be just as happy with the FSB6 for less $$.
